I do like the shapes of Cold War era jets. Nice effect too.
Sorry, one more! Loving the effects of this little program (Bit of a crowded shot, but right up your Cold War alley!)

Woken up at 6am by this little madam at my mate's house today. I helped my sister hand rear her from a day old abandoned kitten so she seems to think this means she can just pounce on me whenever I now visit the friend who adopted her.

Love the moon Richie. It's strange that we only ever see the same face, I should be bored of it, but I'm not.

The sky was washed out in the original so I replaced it. I've also discovered the joys of RAW and how much extra detail you can pull out of an image by tweaking a few sliders.

Love the Lightning Kenzie. I had intended to go to SA to have a go in one but they no longer do it due to poor maintenance and a crash... Outstanding plane tho.
And Richie, more outstanding quality shots from you. I was actually going to post here that this thread had been quiet recently.
LOH: love cats, beautiful creatures. Soo elegant.
John: sums up summer in France for me - fields of them there. Lovely

There used to be an old Lightning on the south bound side of the A1 in a field near Newark for many years,it got picked to bits over the last decade or so,I think it all about gone know cos I didn't notice it the other week, was one of my favourite planes as a kid!!!
Local has a bi plane and was out and about practising his landings!

Went to the Great Bucks Steam and Country Fair today, as the weather was nice and I had a day to myself. Should have left my jacket in the topbox though as it was warmer than I thought... Although it was mainly a steam fair there were lots of shiny old bikes:

Lots of shiny old cars (and a few overseas interlopers):

Lots of oily bits:

And lots of showing off. This is an 18 ton showman's engine pulling three light steam tractors of about 9 tons each using solid push bars. Quite impressive until they unhitched the second in line, moved it ot the front, and it then pulled them all. Which got a big cheer. The little engine that could, so to speak.

Bristol international balloon festival takes place this weekend and we're lucky enough to live right next door. Being so close has its perils though. This one landed in our street about 10 houses up!! Very skilful pilot managed to miss houses, cars, power lines etc and put it down safely.

Some were passing over our house so closely I was able to have a conversation with the pilot without having to shout, lol. Apparently I have a couple of roof tiles I need to repair haha.

I'm not being picky, just haven't had a chance to get anything off my cards or phone onto my pc. But I'm up early so before I head off to another match I may get time. Yesterday I used the spare hour to bake the cricketers chocolate brownies and peanut butter cookies, which was a popular use of my time.

Couldn't post up yesterday, as my interweb was down.
Took the youngest to a trampoline place in the morning & Colchester Zoo in the afternoon.
As usual, there was more wildlife outside the cages than in, where do these people exist?
Anyway, I hope this passes the U rating.

There was a bit of a dust up between the youngest & its father, with the younger getting the upper hand

I know this, because this is one of 2 engines we had in our boat, one the same as this model replica, which I used to maintain.
Can you imagine a V24 with open pipes

So does this work, even for those not on Facebook? It's pics from Sunday - a trip to Gooderstone Water Gardens.

Looks rather like a winding engine to me. Wonder where it's twin ended up?

Might have been hooked up to a thrashing machine Sir Trev, a lot of them where round here. There were some other steam engines in another shed, so it's twin could have been there.
had a good night spinning wire wool :)

Love the Spinning Wire shots Richie, I've been meaning to do that myself sometime. Don't have any scary mates with NBC masks though!
Mine is a slight more successful attempt at Persaid.

Didn't bother taking my camera out but beautiful clear skies and saw some very bright ones this evening once I'd driven away from the street lights onto some farm land out of town.
Sunflower about to burst. D3200 with AGFA Vista 200 filter applied via the free dxo software from a mag this month.

I tried a couple of nights ago but even in Shrewsbury there was too much cloud. You had to be further north I think.
Almost there with the Corsair

I'll get me coat.
Don't worry, I'll Americanise it this weekend.

That is really cool! I've never heard of that method of c41 process, and I used to work in a Pro lab!
Off to Google..

It's really designed for black and white film. I didn't feel like trashing a £7 roll of HP 5 if it went wrong. The Zenit TTL I took this with is a bit of a tank.

A neighbor brought us these eggs from their farm.
So for the first time ever, I had 'Green Eggs and Ham' for breakfast this morning.
Three of them had a distictive green color to the shells, more so than looks in this picture.

I wonder what makes then green, diet I suppose.

It's the breed. Maran hens lay blue eggs that can look green. One of my hens is a Maran, but hers are just plain brown!
Kenzie, my first 35mm camera was a Zenit 12XP. Taught me a lot!
