Some nice photos the last couple of days.
Brett love the night shots
Bill looks like nice cycling country
LPH, Chris numbers riding a pink elephant says it all!
Here's one from today's wind swept UK, although TBH we didn't really catch it that bad in Felixstowe

Here's mine. These are flagstones on the pavement near my house.
Crewe, as most people know, is a big railway town. I need to do some research to find out if these were locos built in Crewe.

Great shot Brettus, I like the way the rail lines lead you through the photo. Wish I wasn't so lazy to get up that early!

Thanks, I've been trying to be more conscious of leading lines recently and as it happens I've started spotting them more (same with the tree shot with the fence)
I'm trying to be more enthusiastic and to get value out of my kit, especially important now I've just ordered 2 more lenses :smt102
What kit have you got? I've recently bought a D3200.

Nice! I admire Nikon kit but am a Canon owner myself (recently upgraded to a 650D). Just ordered a Tokina 11-16mm as I've wanted a wide angle lens for a while and this one does it at F2.8 which should be perfect for low light shots and I seem to do a lot of those.
Also added last minute to my basket a 50mm F1.8 as I've been wishing I had one from the start of owning my camera as they are supposed to be one of the best value lenses available (£75 didn't seem too bad, been kicking myself though as when I first got my camera they were £50 heh)
So expect lots of wide angle and/or shallow depth of field shots incoming soon :D

Hurrah my lens mount is fixed, my camera has been serviced, sensor cleaned and focus calibrated and overhauled. Really quick turnaround by Fixation and came in at just over £380.
Just back in from having my sensor cleaned in Newcastle. £10 cleaned while you wait @ APM camera repairs.

VERY nice Richie, got a song stuck in my head now "Fragments of Time" from Daft Punk's latest album.
WITT* worthy!
(* Wish I'd Taken That!) :D
Finally got to ride to the mountains today but the fall colours were disapointing.
Very late to see green leaves here but most were green or just turning brown and falling off.
Even the brightest leaves seemed of a dullish colour.
Quite cool on top of the mountains but still a nice day to ride.
cracking pics, i know where i'm going on jollys if i ever come into some serious cash :-)

They're not Northumbrian pipes, they're too big and the drones would be resting on the shoulder not over the edge of the lap. They are Uillean pipes (Irish) I think although they have a homemade look about them. Unusual too see a set with no cover over the bag though.
yes they are Uillean pipes as they have a squeeze box.

Mmmmm..... beer.
This place is almost within walking distance of my house and they sell lots of seasonal stuff straight from the brewery tap (as in drink within a week). The Red and the Blonde are always available in bottles, which is handy considering this month's competition theme.

Heck yes. (or for those that partake a bit more frequently - hic, yesh, you're my mate you are).
We bought the T20 last Christmas. Best thing ever according to my wife. If you are into your hot chocolate, I can strongly recommend the Milka version. Cadbury is ok but avoid Suchard.
Here is what I've been up to for a couple of days.. Decking base ready, shame they delivered me boards that we an absolute state!
Awaiting a refund and then need to get some replacements.

squint
adjective (SCOTTISH)
1.
not straight or level.
"the squint bottom edge of the puzzle"
Used whenever someone is hanging/making something that should be level to imbue the element of doubt.

All of the other walkie talkies are named after Englishmen - he is the only overseas player you can see this means more to him than that records breaking 400* or his induction to the ICC Hall of Fame.

Today's picture is not one of mine, but I wanted to post this to remind us all how important and meaningful a simple photograph can be.
2 days ago a journalist friend who now lives abroad posted the news that his wife had given birth to their second child, a little girl, but that she had been born at only 25 weeks and weighed on 1 lb 15 oz. She was given only a 50/50 chance of survival and very sadly after 33 hours her poor little body gave up the fight and she passed away.
This image of him with his baby which he has shared with us is one of the most moving I have seen. There is so much pain but also love and it is a reminder of just how precious our photos can be to us.

one taken this morning between 05:20 and 05:50
First go at star stacking - Next time I'll take the photo at a small resolution to cut out the star lag dot effect to make it a more smooth effect.

Mine for today - on the day taken which is unusual. Got a text from the England Cricket Captain asking if I could arrange a net for some of his friends and maybe a bit of a tour afterwards. They happen to be members of the All Blacks rugby team who play England at Twickenham on Saturday. For those that know about rugby - and I don't - they are (left to right) Tony Woodcock, Luke Romano, Wyatt Crockett and Andrew Hore.
Big lads, funny ears, but really lovely and had a good time belting the ball around.
