Here is the moon stacking guide I followed, the free specialist software seems to be better suited to it than photoshop: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=1224931

That dark forest sounds a lot like fangorn forest of Lord of the Rings, what madness would drive a person in there :)

Heard a tale of a guy lost in woods that chopped down a power line so maintenance guys would have to come and he could be rescued.

We have been away visiting family on Cyprus, so this is not of today, but a day last week.
It was an exceptionally emotional and important day.
Here in this photo, I would like to bring to your attention the catastrophic disaster which is the 1974 Turkish invasion, in this photo you will see the sheer disrespect of a people towards another. This is a family cemetery, in a village where Pegasus' ancestors lived, worked and built, then were layed to rest. This village now lies 1km from a crossing point into the illegally occupied areas.
Looted, broken, bulldozed into piles. You cannot enter without climbing a huge pile of earth and broken statues from the roadside. The illegal inhabitants of the village ignore this, as if it never happened behind that wall of earth.

Out and about in Barnstaple this morning.
Saw this nice deli with flavoured oils and vinegars:

And there was a parade for the new graduates:

Complete with town crier leading it.

And then we had a wander into the market hall which looked incredibly twee somehow

I STILL get my thumb in the way from time to time!

Rediculous expensive for what looks to be 1970's technology. Just wiper speed and delay.
Had another go at it the next day at work where I had a bright torch to aid these failing eyes.
Traced down the problem and with a little soldering tis' good as new.

punyXpress

One eye half open. The mutt spends a lot of her day pretending to be asleep but when you poke a camera at her (as one does when one tries to photograph her feet) she tries to keep an eye on what you're up to. Old but not daft (the dog I mean).

Quality wise not a great photos as I had my pro working for me tonight so these are on my phone. But after a few very stressful weeks my event at Lord's, The London Sports Writing Festival, finally reached the big one this evening with a sold out Q&A with Roddy Doyle and Roy Keane. This year I'd taken on the organising of this 4 day literary festival at Lord's after a colleague left in June. So while the pics are pretty ordinary, it's my proof I can do more than just be a photographer. Just the cycling events all day tomorrow and I'm done.

Nice job LPH!, the thread is about progress and documentation and that is quite a testament! Getting something like that organised and everyone "handled" is quite a feat, it'd scare the bejesus out of me :-)

I had to oversee everything from booking rooms, working out AV requirements, ticketing, coordinating volunteers, staff and stewards, catering needs and bar times, marketing and PR, green room, security, book singings, furniture, ensuring the speakers' presentations would play on the screens, even that we had enough signs and blue tak. At various times I've been the compere at a photography masterclass, security for Sol Campbell, pulled pints when the bar got busy and sold books when the pop up book shop was manic. It's certainly tested my skills on how adaptable and resourceful I can be!

Well done LPH.

Hopefully the higher ups will notice and decide move ''someone with your talents' up the ladder a bit.

A bit jealous.
Used to organise some motorcycle events. Really enjoyed that.
Quite satisfying seeing it all come together and people enjoying it.

I'm not very precious about my lawn, unlike some of my neighbours, bit I woke up this morning to find it had been transformed into a battlefield simulation.

On closer inspection there are very canine-esque paw prints in some of the holes. It's unlikely to be a neighbour's dog as the garden is well fenced but something cunning that was clearly hungry for whatever grubs were lining under the surface of my moss/grass/weeds managed to get in.

Badgers almost certainly, one of my colleagues had something similar happen

Went for a bimble on the push bike this afternoon. Stopped off at the Quarry park in Shrewsbury. This bit is called the Dingle and was laid out by Percy Thrower.

I have better shots on my DSLR but I can't get near the PC to process them.

Probably some insect delicacy just under the turf, or maybe loads of earthworms.

Distract them with food? Then take photos and post here. Especially if there are babies with them :-)

that is badger damage, almost for certain.

Probably some insect delicacy just under the turf, or maybe loads of earthworms.

they're after the chafer grubs that are living in the root system. I'm afraid the only thing you can really do is try and kill the chafer grubs off with chemicals (although this is quite expensive) as the badgers shall almost certainly be back over the next few nights!

have had the same problem on the golf course that I do a bit of work on currently. plus what with badgers being protected you can't go about killing them off instead I'm afraid.

Tonight's Countryfile programme spent quite a bit of time at Hadrian's Wall, esp photography of night sky and sycamore - worth a look if you missed it?

if you peel back a bit of the turf in a damaged area (it shouldn't be difficult) and find any grub like creatures then I'm also afraid that the badgers will again almost certainly be back during the night for more and most probably rip up more turf, so I would suggest it is not worth trying to repair any of the damage yet :(

After 2 months of blindness finally back out on the bike today.
Was really amazing. The depth perception I thought I'd been losing for 10 years is now back.
If you're over 40 and not had your eyes checked recently, do it!!!
Can't believe how much more I can see now and how bright the world really is.

Oh and while you're out there if you wouldn't mind... Make me jealous with some more of your fall colour shots ;)
