Looked like it had been running a bit lean. Is the engine ok?

Here's mine. I went to wet my son's new baby's head last night & found that Wetherspoons were serving this. We'd had it last year in Northumberland & really enjoyed it. i was that impressed I even went back today for another pint :)

Have been feeling carp all weekend (bet I'll be fine again come Monday morning...) but went out for a walk today which helped. Only wandered around the park down the road but it was a good excuse to try my new tripod and polarising filter.

My neighbours had the tree surgeons in on Wednesday. They warned me ten minutes before the chief-chainsaw-wielder popped round to ask my opinion of what they'd asked him to do (nice of him). I suggested a reduction and re-shape was all that they needed and he agreed, but they'd asked for "more". See the before and after below. What do you think about their decision?

Wide one from me tonight, decided to try long exposure panoramas in gale force winds (not my best decision) but I'm staying locally so had to give it a go.

Just about acceptable result from one of the sets. Need to try this before it is completely dark sometime.

Don't seem to be doing much at the moment, but got out on the bike today, my 1st proper ride in months. It felt so good to get out of town & open the bike up, she needed it. I had new tyres fitted yesterday & I'm pretty pleased with them. I really need to get out & about a lot more instead of moping about the house.

To turn it off go to USER CP in the top left of the site and then look for subscribed threads.

Admin already posted some good advice, there are recovery tools out there. Not used any myself so can't recommend one I'm afraid but if you get stuck update your post as we are quite a helpful bunch :-)

Mav, cool, I can rarely make a compelling monochrome image somehow.

Edit: doh, should've read ALL of mavs post, he already posted the fix too.

Finally had a chance to try my 70-300 again. All the shots I took on Sunday were rubbish - very soft focus at 300mm and was all set to return the lens. Then read up some user reviews and stepped it down three of four stops and it works a treat, so I'll keep it.

All together now, awwww....... Focus is not spot on but the little so and so's move so quick!

Nikon - for goodness sake buy that girl some teeth. And I'll have mine fried on toast (eggs that is, not the chicken).

Red - thanks for the headache you get just for scrolling past that the once!

TCom - nice heritage diesel but sheesh that guy needs to get out more.

Matt - check your insurance as I'm not sure those two will be on there as named drivers.

Mine for today is (most of) my department. The rather shy young lady in the middle is leaving us today to go to Uni in Australia and wanted a photo of the people she had worked with the last 4 months as an intern. So I decided to set it up properly and do it in the Long Room. I then had to find someone to press the shutter so I could be in it too, so some poor cleaner got his lunch interrupted to assist.

Cheers for that chap. Nice work with the photo wizardry.

Of course I can't take credit for the original, obviously it was taken by a friend of mine, I was busy at the time laughing like a maniac and grinning widely from ear to ear like a person you move away from on the bus.....:smt026

Great shot Richie, I like that & now keep looking at the screws in question & saying "yes, it does need sorting out" damn you! ;)

Here's mine. Took a ladder here today & had to take a photo. I told the customer what a lovely place it was.

More flooding - bit closer to home though. The River Wye is not exactly mighty but all the little streams, like the one in the park by my house, are a bit "full" and they empty into the Wye. Which is now managing to escape...

Could be a lot worse of course - at least it's only invading the kiddies playground before rejoining its normal course a hundred meters or so further down. Some of the locals are loving it.
