Miss.... MISS! Richie keeps mooning us! ;)
Nice shot once again! looks good with your flair for bordering and typography too.
Bill, How is it that you get 3.5" of rain yet the road looks dry, must be pretty warm there already? We got to the stage now where the showers dry out pretty quick but I'm not sure 3.5" would, We'd have national emergencies alongside hosepipe bans ;)

Did not have time to post these yesterday.
The people of High Wycombe (ie me and my neighbours) are a bit odd. Every year the Mayor and cronies walk around the old parish boundary and stop off at the remaining marker stones and accost the nearest small person, turn them upside down, and bump their head on a ceremonial box. I kid you not. Beating the Bounds it is called and will hopefully not land His Worship in the dock next to Rolf Harris.
Meant to reply to this earlier.
I was talking to an informed member of the High Wycombe society who told me that this started off as a pagan festival which involved human (child) sacrifice. The banging/bumping was to get some blood out onto the stones.
I suspect health and safety wouldn't allow that to happen any more.
Currently in Ghent , Belgium watching the FA cup in an Irish pub. Spotted this.

Celtic Towers perchance? ;)
You should DEFINITELY go check out the Glengarry, take a right out of the Celtic Towers (assuming that is the one) past the belfry and you will be in a plaza with a fountain, theatre to your left, Glengarry to your right (it is downstairs, look for the signs)

Considering the eccentricities of my adopted town it would not surprise me!
The other (less violent) big ceremonial event of the year was today - the Mayor Weighing Ceremony. The mayor, their spouse, the Aldermen, town clerk, council members, our MP and even the head of RAF Command which is just up the road from us (he's an honorary freeman of the town) are weighed in public. If they weigh the same or less than last year the town crier calls "AND NO MORE", at which point we all cheer. Weighing more brings down a call of "AND SOME MORE!" which is greeted with a lot of booing. All good fun.
The old Mayor weighing out (no more - cheer!)

I would have got one of the Group Captain from RAF Command but there was some commotion on the platform about whether he was wearing his medals and ceremonial sword last year, neither of which were in evidence today...
As this is a more well attended event than Beating the Bounds there were three press snappers there. So I had to go green with envy looking at their lenses...

Constant wind along with dry air (low humidity) dry everything up fast.
Been a bit cool here since the rain. 7 at night and 20 for the high.

To capture a once (maybe) in a lifetime event, its not worth doing on the cheap.
Gets some prices of your local ones, and see what the cheapest ones work is like.
My Dad used to do weddings, its their bread & butter work, photographers didn't earn a lot of money in his day & I doubt they're cash rich these days, despite the prices.
Don't get a friend to do it.

With Crossrail coming to Maidenhead (if they ever finish it) I am lamenting the decision to close part of the branch line between there and High Wycombe. The bit from HW to Bourne End closed in 1970 but the rest of the line remains in service. Being able to hop on a train or light rail service to Maidenhead, connecting to Crossrail or the Great Western services would be rather useful to a lot of HW commuters that otherwise have to go into London Marylebone, which is let's face it, miles from anywhere.
Bits of the closed trackbed are a cycle route now and bits are just out of sight and out of mind. If you scramble down a bank though you can still find bits of it, as long as they are not in use by fly tippers or drug users. I was very careful where I put my feet when I took this.
Considering how busy the roads are between these two towns I really hope the line re-opens at some point.

From something fast (nice pics Richie) to something slow and rather glum looking. Weather was pants today so went scouting for a location for a future pic session. Much easier to walk around with a compact doing this than lugging the DSLR and tripod about. Found my location for a calm and sunny day but on the way I found a Heron which is, I'm guessing, a youngster from the rubbish feathers. Oddly it was sitting on an artificial island along with a Cormorant and several ducks and geese in Middle Dock, in sight of Canary Wharf right by (!) Heron Quays DLR station.

Disclaimer: I have NO artistic ability, I can't draw a decent square let alone anything with curves. This really is a surprise to me :-)
Love it :)

If you tickle Dave he wees on you. The rat that is.
Clearly different people have different ideas as to what makes an "excellent pet".

There is one advantage.
If there's an outbreak of the plague you'll be one of the first to know.

I'm working today, so for anyone who listens to cricket on the radio, this is the view from the Test Match Special box. The photo was taken as a possible for our calendar next year. The theme being 'behind the scenes at Lord's'.

New Juke in Yellow Im waiting for these I sell them for a living :)
And Richie makes them! ;) (well kind of)
Who designed the Juke? Not exactly the nicest looking car out there. I'm not sure what look they were going for?

Juke is kind of an acquired taste, thought it was ugly at first but then really started to like it and then ended up buying one. Funky and a little different (more cars starting to look like it) evoque is an expensive alternative.
Love ours, 190bhp and still a small car really. Not light for sports performance but just fun, all the time, everywhere.

Went for a wander yesterday. Took some pictures, but not too happy with most of them. A couple of the better ones.

Another from Sunday.
The edge of the clouds or the edge of the light?
Or maybe even the edge of reality?
Didn't see this until tonight when I was editing the pic.
What the ..Is that the ghost of my dog lying in her usual spot among the trees???
