Enough is enough.
It's supposed to be spring.
And yet this is the rain we are supposed to be getting tonight with only a slight chance of freezing rain overnight with little to no accumulation.
Not quite an hour and there's already an inch. And the storms just got here.

So today, one of my more random photographic assignments. Three ladies from Japan who are now writing their third book in a series about knitting and this time they visited Lord's as they are doing a chapter on the history of the cricket sweater!

We've had 2 feet already *today* and its still coming down... and actually its getting stronger by the hour! :-)

You can have all the snow!
I'm sick of seeing it every 3 or 4 days.
I have no desire what so ever to live in Canada (or the northern US).
We had 2 ft. of snow here two weeks ago but that is unusual.
Banana's favour a warmer climate. ;)
Nice pic Mavi!
I long for spring!!!!
Seeing those flowers in bloom is reasuring it will be here soon.

DJI F450 kit as recommended by the mighty org itself: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=198445
Never soldered anything before but with the help and advice I made it work with only me ever touching it (I expected to get in over my head and either give up or hand it to someone else to make it work)
It has more brains on board than I have on the ground, it has GPS, compass, accelerometers and everything else required to keep it stable and in a particular location if you choose. my favourite feature (although I still think if I come to use it in anger I'll forget and end up worse off) is the return to home. Flick a switch and it stops what it is doing, heads up and then comes back to the location it took off from, tested it in the field last week and it landed fine.
There are cheaper kits (I'm kinda wondering now, how cheaply I can make one from scratch with less (but sufficient) intelligence onboard etc) but I opted for the branded make and simple kit. The ready to fly ones are obviously easiest but I wanted to strap my own cameras to it and such so the kit seemed best option. I love being able to string (quite literally) whatever I like underneath it without worrying too much about it. I've now got an action camera for £45 that I have on the front of it VBkP-ijEgDM but it has carried my iPhone and my Fujifilm W3 3D camera without any trouble (or much reduction in flight time)
Sorry for the waffle in what is supposed to be a picture thread, I'm just rather enamoured with my latest hobby.

That was actually a bit of a pi$$ take photo taken on my phone. An Aussie friend was in Sydney this weekend and sent me this photo from his coffee stop
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/10/e6u5usu9.jpg
So when I was out later I stopped at the viaduct, took that one and replied 'Yeah yeah, whatever, we've got fancy bridges in Essex too!'
Then today I sent him one of me cuddling Shane Warne.

I'm the furthest thing from religious but they are practically public buildings and rural ones are... well rural so I'm not going to offend anyone by flying nearby and they also are some of the most interesting buildings around.
I've got plans to do some other types of structures but these were local and easy to get to despite the unfavourable winds.

Bret - I hate you on a very jealous level... :)
What a momentous day for offspring and motoring firsts. Jake first pillion and Joan's first driving lesson.
They grow up so fast :smt045 :(
been out on the bike again with the Lad :)

Some ground level shots today, went to a national trust site, pretty sure they wouldn't like me buzzing around the place so I got some shots during the sunny breaks.

Really like the 1st shot Richie. Brett, loving the airborne shots, really good take on photography.
Been for a little wander today & took a couple of pics. Played around with reversing the lens.

I went out and explored some really narrow tracks connecting the farms. Most had the merest hint of tarmac and the rest was mud, gravel, potholes, bits of fallen tree, horse poo and the occasional ford.

Taken on the mobile that one.
Went to Em-Con in Nottingham yesterday. Saw the Red Dwarf cast. Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llywellyn, Hattie Hayridge, Norman Lovett and Mac McDonald. Also saw David Prowse aka Darth Vader and David Warner. There were cast members from Doctor Who and Game of Thrones as well.

As well as some entertainment for the EPIC queue that we were waiting in. Only got in because we had booked a photo shoot with the Red Dwarf cast.

Couldn't figure out why I was having trouble with the shots being blurry. Just checked the EXIF and have left it in spot metering after trying some moon shots the night before. So a tip:
Always check your settings!

As no one has posted today here's one I took of my nephew. It's grandparents' day at school tomorrow so we made golden oldie cup cakes for the visiting grandparents.
Rich chocolate, gold foil cases, chocolate icing with good stars, golden sprinkles and golden glossy edible sheen to finish. Apparently the teachers like it when Auntie Clare helps with bake days!

Smee again!
BP, loving that first one! Can't get my head into gear at the moment to take anything myself but really like that. The second might benefit from perspective correction in Lightroom as the horizon is level but the monument looks weirdly askew?
Really nice location!
LPH: your second one really appeals, sunrise light takes some commitment to get at the moment!
Gary, can never fault a good dog picture and that is nice! Looks like she's settling well!
Mister_C, how's the 'ped doing?
Mine for today is a rubbish picture but mildly interesting. I ran out of patience waiting for days nice enough to use my hammock:

Went to B&Q this morning and got the sturdiest looking plate type brackets I could find and screwed them with 4x inch and a halfs to the beams. They ain't moving :-) not even a creak when fully laden.
Heating up, shorts on and some tranquil summer sounds from the speakers and maybe a fan on the landing oscillating for a breeze ;-)
LPH the 2nd one is class :)

Here's mine for today. We had a baking competition at work - the Sport Relief Bake Off. Open to MCC and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Lots of entries, cakes sold at £1 a time and we raised well over £100.
Mine was one of two winners which I was chuffed with as I was a bit worried my bouquet of cupcakes would not survive the drive in.
