DJ and eldest went to Comicon and I didn't have to go, well worth a smile, but even better I took youngest to a local horse show (next door to where we keep his horse) and we had a fantastic day topped by him coming second in the under 14's 70cm jumping with his new horse and this is despite the poor child being bitten by a horse fly on the back of his neck just before he started jumping.

Met author Ben Aaranovitch at Comic Con with eldest today. Fantastic author and nice bloke to boot. Actually, if you like Neil Gaiman-y like fantasy novels, another fine author and genuinely nice bloke is James Brogden. He hasn't got a proper book deal yet, but his second (excellent) novel, Tourmaline, is available on Amazon. Bought the follow up today, I'll try to remember to let you all know if it's as good as the first.

Did mine last weekend, both sets of exhaust valves were at minimum, but within spec. After an oil leak and an ill fitted gasket, all is now well. Happy I decided to do it myself! :)

A knob jockey in his VW Golf Cabriolet decided to jump ahead of me by one car by using a right only lane at a roundabout, as I was in the correct lane for proceeding straight ahead. cut me up in my car.:smt019

But there were two other cars in front of me, both being driven by old people, so KJ couldn't overtake them & was gesticulating with his arms, as he couldn't pass them.

At the next roundabout he got stuck behind the slower of the two cars, so i was laughing at him so he could see me in his rear view mirror. :smt040

Then the next set of traffic lights turned red, just to compound KJ's misery :p

The famous honours board in the dressing room was getting updated today. Except the engraver took the order over the phone from a Welsh member of staff here and miss heard. I sent the pic to Chris Rogers and got the reply 'Don't mean to be picky, but you've got my name wrong!'

By that time our media department had already sent the video out. Oopsie.

It's now updated correctly. At least the player saw the funny side, he was threatening to change his middle name from John to Glenda on Facebook.

Get them to pay the £1000 directly to you so you can "proceed with the repairs".

In a similar situation, I refused to let them take my bike and have so far spent the sum total of £15 and a bolt to get it back on the road.

Does that work with third party fire and theft - my insurance have gotten their garage to take my bike and assess it. They rang today to say they are now going to pursue the 3rd party's insurance. I only really wanted someone to tell me it wasn't bent or cracked. I have however had to sign a million form's some I didn't really want to. Not sure I can do what you suggest now. Would have been a lot simpler.

Yes, but my waking time is between 5 & 6 when I'm working & stressed out, especially in the summer when the mornings are so light.

I think it also stems from also doing a paper round, so I was always up bright & early

So after 7 is bloomin good

Got some well wishes today on my fb page from Rich Oliver, the third most winning motorcycle rider in American history.
Rich is a 5 time AMA 250 National Champion, a WERA Champion and a Formula USA 500cc National Champion.
He went undefeated in 1996 and 1997 with 25 straight wins and has won 71 National road race victories.
He was a Yamaha factory rider who retired from racing in 2006.
I was a reporter back in those days and was at his last race (which he won).
He now runs a private race school.

I seriously doubt he remembers me in person but we are friends on fb and it was certainly nice of him to take the time
