Heavy Rain forecast late Saturday onto the early hours Sunday with temperatures +7'C...

No rain here overnight and the low level murk and mist has finally lifted. Got out on the bike for the first time this year which was nice. Going to have to wash it later of course but it was worth it.

Just got my all time best 184mpg out of the 125 ! Then, needed to fill up so went to Morrisons and just about managed to squeeze just over a fiver in the tank. Paid and was given a £5 voucher to use in the supermarket, no minimum spend. So basicaly, the last 240 odd miles which were already cheap, just effectively became free!

Just got back from a meal out with Lady Poppy and the munchkin at The Sausage Tree in HW. They do speciality steaks on a Hot Rock, basically it arrives on a red hot stone and you leave it on there as long as you like to cook it to your preference. The bison was excellent, the side salad was nicely dressed and the chips nice and crunchy with a fluffy middle. Wonderful selection of bottled beers as well, plus the girls said the wine was excellent too. Bit squiffy but jolly happy :)

It is a big car, but as I'm only 5'2 and just over 8 stone I can squeeze in and out of it quite easily. The spaces in the underground car park at work were clearly designed for Smart cars only, with pillars everywhere, that's always a test of my parking skills.

I believe its my £50

Lost £50 in cash on Wed, got the money out of the cash machine, went into the shop, bought some sweets, but paid on my card.

Got my wallet out on Thursday to pay for a meal, no cash in my wallet. Don't think I left it in the cashpoint, as it would show on my statement.

So must have dropped it somewhere? Which is odd, as I usually stuff my money straight into my wallet when I go to the cash point :(

This pleasure will be lost on most of the chaps here but I got a big hug today from Simon Reeve. I was at a travel show at Olympia, work related, but I knew he would be there so I took him some chocolate cupcakes. He was very happy with that. The girls in the office are as they say 'well jel' but I've extended an invitation for him to come to Lord's this summer if he's not travelling somewhere exotic. This pic does not show that he's about 15 inches taller than me and had to almost get on his knees.

I had an invite to a private view at the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace this morning. Breakfast included. It featured Dutch artists of the 17th century and the comic art of Thomas Rowlandson.

My manager sadly had to miss it even though he'd organised it because he was moving house. To make up for that I bought him a rather splendid Buckingham Palace tea towel as a house warming gift.

But what I most enjoyed today was having the services of a butler to serve me my breakfast and coffee.

Going to work down the motorway chuckling at the gap being big enough to filter.

The guy in front was riding a Fatboy with wide tyre conversion. His rear was wider than the whole of my bike, so the cars were far enough apart for me. I think the sound from his exhaust was denting a few body panels as well.

The next step of taking my life back!
All those months spent in the hospital and lying in bed recovering, followed by even more months of taking it easy and eating good to build up strength, resulted in putting a few extra pounds on.
Finally, with full approval of the heart doctor, started back riding the exercise bike again today.
Looking to take off around 20 to 25 lbs. in the next 10 weeks then cut back a bit to keep it off.
I really do enjoy riding/working out on that thing!

Dry roads today and finally got insurance and tax sorted on the new (to me) SV650s... so celebrated last weeks test pass with an hour out getting a feel for the new bike. In a nutshell... very solid feeling, geared higher than my old 125 (obviously!) and getting used to the position will take a while, but got a feel for taking pressure off my wrists by gripping the tank with my knees... my core needs to get stronger to support this! Wonderful hour out though and can't wait for the next dry day.

yup mines goes down every year as well. last renewal was £114 FC with no security devices. Bikesure, they also know my bike is modified and i have had a claim with them as well for the last bike which was stolen. every year they send me a letter stating when they will take the payment and then once payment is made they send me out my docs. could i get it cheeper.. yes, but i dont care for the hassle.
