Found the other part of the 12v accessory socket which I'd been looking months for, so now I can wire that into Bib's device and have a proper 12v supply for my phone & other devices!
Also found some pushbike parts I'd also been hunting high & low for, although one pair of pedals is still MIA

Going all the way to Wales to see Blur, bouncing around in the crazy area a few rows from the stage then getting shoved right to the front. When you're little it's the best place to watch from. Now I'm sitting on the beach outside the venue in Llandudno. What a great night.
Aaah post gig euphoria, only trouble is the come down or waiting for the next show can't come soon enough.
I need a 4D experience bubble so I can revisit the great nights I've had a t shows, especially as I haven't been to any for 2 years :(

My euphoria did not stretch to skinny dipping like some did! And I don't have to wait too long, I'm seeing them at Hyde Park next week. :D

Smile of the day? Cycling down to the pub with Mrs to have a sneaky pint while we waited for eldest to finish work (he's not 16 yet and he has his first job as a pot washer, quite proud of him). Mmmmm, sneaky pint

Going out to horse show, youngest worked hard with his new(ish) horse and really proved that they will be good together, eldest worked really well all day opening gates, telling people where to park and then picking up poles in the show jumping, then DJ put it all on the Pony Club website so that everyone can see what's happening. I love it when we get the truly rare day when we are all together as a family, if only bikes were involved.

Seeing my old buddy Nigel today for the first time in years. A quick coffee and chat turned into four hours of putting the world to rights and lunch at Rykas. And then I had a nice ride home.
Finally got the root extracted today. Bit sore and a little fuzzy after being put under.

I saw them last on the Black October tour, which was 2/10/85 I think, so it'll be just over 30 years to the day when I see them next!!

My cat having 3 teeth out on Monday which cost me a fortune was my gripe on Monday. This morning as if to defiantly prove that fewer teeth isn't going to stop him being Top Cat of the neighbourhood he proudly brought me a huge mouse at 6am. I had to laugh at how pleased he was with himself. Even his brother looked impressed.
Other users who don't know the rules re solid white lines and slow moving vehicles.
See you later suckeres :)
According to bikesafe cops in Carlisle, you can pass a stationary vehicle over a solid white line, but if it is moving you cannot ! Even if it is slow moving ?
HIGHWAY CODE:
Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid. This means you MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less.
If the slow moving vehicle is a tractor/oversize load/etc - not road maintenance then ???
Orger's in Blue clarify ???
7755matt
25-06-15, 09:00 AM
I wouldn't have thought there was much on the roads these days that actually travels less than 10mph
If you make sure you approach well on the wrong side of the speed limit, there's no way you can tell if it's doing 10mph or stationary. So you can pass it with a clear conscience :smt043
OK. I'll make it crystal clear

Spending the day running from one end of the ground to the other for a Hardys Wine media day, they are a big sponsor and I was knackered with a burning Achilles by the end of it. But as we finished they gave me a couple of bottles of their new premium range for the weekend and invited me to lunch at the Honorable Artillery Club on Monday for a wine tasting with the Hardy family.
I rang the boss and he said take the day out of the office and enjoy it. Result! :-)

My smile today is making a random new friend. A couple of months ago I went to a photography exhibition private view as a +1 of my oldest friend. Afterwards I tweeted how much I'd enjoyed it - it was photos of New Order at a gallery in Camden. Beautiful black and white prints. It was a photographer whose work I've always liked, he's worked for NME and Q a lot.
The photographer thanked me. We got chatting. Turns out over the last 25 years we've worked with loads of the same people yet never met before. And he likes cricket. So I invited him to a match as my guest.
Tonight he took me to the National Theatre in return to see The Motherfuİ<er With The Hat as he thought I'd enjoy it. I did, it was fab.
I love that just a chance invite from a really old mate has lead to me making this new friend.

As you may have seen on photo a day, I hosted the Coldstream Guards at Lord's a few weeks ago, so as a thank you tonight I was invited to supper at St James's Palace.
It was black tie, and I was a guest of the Major who is guarding the Queen and two officers.
The butler brought me a very fine Moscow Mule on the roof terrace, when I got chilly the Major loaned me his dress cape. Dinner was served in a beautiful room in the Officers quarters with rather lovely wine and lots port, I don't drink much but I could have. I was given a history of the building and I held a cannon ball and a snuff box made from a cow's hoof from WWI and a diamond brooch owned by Queen Victoria as she looked down from a portrait of her as a beautiful young woman, a rarity as most show her in mourning. There were swords and bear skins.
Tomorrow the Queen will dine where I sat. I was the last person allowed to use 'her majesty's loo' before she does.
As Tuesday nights go, that was up there as one to remember. I always love showing people around at Lord's but when the return trip to their workplace is that special it's definitely a smile of the day!

Yes that sounds weird.
