Man it's gone from swarm of the flies to no flies at all! I just did about 100 miles at warp 9 and my bike has like 5 flies on it. The cool weather must have killed them off
In other news, my bike feels incredible just now with those new tyres! Such a pleasure to take corners

Same here Darren. Riding back from Yorkshire last Friday I had to keep stopping to clear the bugsplats from my visor. Rode into town today and not a single splat!
thats due to there being a little breeze, you dont get midge when its windy.
riding a naked has definitely slowed me down. yesterday when looking down at the clocks most of the time the speed was 60mph and below. where before it was upwards by a fair old whack. the larger (two teeth) rear sprocket along with the wind blast has me holding on for dear life at times. its fun :-)

Slower?! We'll need to get you back out for a run with me, show you how it's done ;)
I'm tempted to get a bigger rear sprocket for more fun but it'll probably just cut my tank range down even lower

Know the feeling Bibs. My GSX-F was fully faired and you did not notice the speed creeping up. Now I have a naked again I feel more part of the experience somehow.
my brain cant cope with going at fast speeds any more. the body is willing but the brain is wandering so its time to chill and look at the scenery instead of endless tarmac and corners.

Went in to London today for a chat with a recruiter about a possible new contract. As it was a nice day I had a wander about in the sunshine afterwards instead of heading straight back to Marylebone. Bit of a mistake as I had forgotten to take a hat and after a bit I realised my head was starting to cook... Had to duck into a nearby hostelry for a cold reviving one, which was nice. Hope you all managed to enjoy at least some of the sunshine today, if you had some in your neck of the woods of course.

Bike does look good, mind you I have never been a fan of faired bikes, why hide all that lovely engineering behind plastic. Last time I used a bike for commuting was when I was in late teens early 20's (late 60's early 70's) and even then they were not faired, can't for the life of me how I used to ride in all weather and on snowy / icy roads - must have been the foolishness / hardiness of yoof.
IMHO You do get more of an experience on naked bikes, and I have never been one for long distance touring where a fairing is a help.
And as you say, less likely to lose your licence on a naked. Being a naked the AL7 already had lower gearing fitted as standard ( 15 / 46 ) and is pretty quick off the mark as a result.

Dear DPD how do you keep in business, 2 days running you've scheduled to deliver a parcel, 2 days running you've cancelled the delivery. I know when your driver gets around my road, so saying my parcel has been delayed is a load of old tosh, especially when it's been put on the van twice according to its tracking.
Only TNT have been just as useless, and I saw their can drive past three days running, can you beat that?
Just glad I didn't stay in to await non delivery.

Thankfully it is the weekend and I feel a bit more relaxed than our man Bibs. Have you tried some stretching and balance exercises to take your mind off it? When I feel hacked off at work I find a few lunges and squats are quite relaxing (luckily the place is usually half empty and I can find a quiet corner most of the time with nobody looking on).

Twmpath. Twmpath (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈtʊmpaθ]) is a Welsh word literally meaning a hump or tump, once applied to the mound or village green upon which the musicians sat and played for the community to dance.

Could be the remains of yeast and other stuff in 'darker drinks' (like real ale and some UK beers) - that is affecting you - I think continental beers are probably well filtered to give them their lighter colour). Real ale really gives me a bad head and an upset stomach, but lager is fine, red wine also affects me pretty badly.

I do like the odd pint of IPA but like a few of you it seems I cannot get through much before regretting it badly. Can drink far more in the way of spirits but the sugary mixers I like to have with them are something I'm trying to cut back on.
As it's a bank holiday weekend we'll have a nice bottle of Rhone red tonight I think as a treat. I tend to spend a bit more on wine these days as the better quality is less likely to give me a headache so the wine rack only gets raided when we think we deserve it.

Think it's more to do with the additives that are used in our beers, which aren't found in continental beers.
Most German beer should be brewed to a natural standard, with no additives, but there was a big hoo hah as one brewery was found to be using additives to give the beer a longer shelf life. It's stuff like this that causes headaches, I'm sure

Hot weather made a lot of people grumpy through lack of sleep and the rivers and reservoirs were going down fast, and now we are back to normal proper UK weather. I looks on weather maps as though Scotland continued to get a good soaking while we were having high temps and no rain.

There are plenty of milk and egg subs for making batter. Soya, oat, nut milk all work well, and there's a good starch based egg substitute too. Can't remember the name now, I'll look it up for you. We make lots of very good batter based stuff with them.
**edit** Orgran is the stuff we use but this is worth a read (http://recipes-plus.co.uk/article/best-vegan-egg-substitute-186#!)
yeah but do they work for yorkshire puddings? They're a bit special. They only rise because of a reaction between the egg and the salt. I'm not sure substitutes work here.
But pancakes are nice as well :)
