Wideboy
09-02-10, 09:21 PM
cos your ghey
just think your calculations are wrong.... On a 33bhp bike, I really can't see how your bike is doing such crap MPG.... unless you are riding everywhere in 1st?
I dont understand either
But dont forget its been faffing about as well i usually get 100 miles to 12 litres
Drew Carey
09-02-10, 09:23 PM
Holdup....my 955i is good for about 30ish mpg....when having fun!!!! The combined mpg is apparently around the 47 mark, SV pointy fully powered should be about 41mpg.
Wideboy

Its annoying me now, i was asked by the mechanic at work the other day if it was using loads of fuel which i found out today it is
was this when you where running on one cylinder?
Would appear so but it had done 40+ miles first on both
TheOnlyNemesis

Why are you taking the rad off?
TheOnlyNemesis
10-02-10, 10:20 AM
oh, thought you were gonna use ti make yourself have the same sort of face as WB has in his avatar pic
Wideboy
10-02-10, 10:23 AM
That was girths doing
Why are you taking the rad off?
front plug....
The bolt that holds the rad on up the top is a right pain + then theres wires, then you have to drop it and rest it on the wheel, just urghh
oh, thought you were gonna use ti make yourself have the same sort of face as WB has in his avatar pic
:smt005
holdup... do you ever ride your bike or just take it apart?
TheOnlyNemesis
10-02-10, 10:27 AM
he doesn't have a license really, he just pretends he does and fiddles with the bike all year
I went out on it yesterday thank you, then i washed it and the front plug got wet again, so some how now water is getting in baaaaaaaaaaaaaaadly whereas it never did before
wash it with a hosepipe?
yes
....
If washing it with a hosepipe make its die then what rain do... its still water + ive always washed it with a hosepipe and never had any problems
Dicky Ticker
10-02-10, 10:39 AM
Apart from as stated in the other thread about it running on one a lot recently------
Your better then Hans Christion Anderson-----------make your mind up
drew would sometimes get the problem when he washed it with a hosepipe as you can't control where the water goes!
So when he did use the hosepipe would use the really light spray option?!
But I'm only a woman... I'll go back to the kitchen ;-)

Yea same here, but i really dunno where its coming from now so gunna try and a bit of grease to the coil as well,
But I'm only a woman... I'll go back to the kitchen ;-)
You do that :thumleft: make me some breakfast please? :p

You dont have to take the rad off to get to the front plug thats just silly
if your still not firing trace the ht lead back to the loom as it sometimes becomes disconected of disturbed

I always drop it cus it gives more room, i have traced it but the front coil is a pita to get to whereas the rear one is so easy to get to i could do it with my eyes shut

Lily,I use a pressure washer but keep it away from the bearings and electrics, dry it off then use a hot air dryer to finish and touch wood a trouble free solution for the last 10+years. I would imagine the same would work after a good rinse off with a hosepipe
Drew Carey
10-02-10, 10:48 AM
That is correct.....I did......however, even with the hose pipe, just don't go spraying around the front plug. Never really had issues.
The main trick is get a good cleaner like SDOC100......spray it on.....leave it for 10 mins.....give it a light spongeing, then rinse off the bike from hi to low. Let the water run down the bike, water should then miss the front sparky as if it was raining heavily.
Then any bits that need it just use a clean sponge to remove soap. Dry whole bike with chamois........then get rag and WD40 and go over engine / frame / swingarm / wheels.
Grab some polish (I use MER).....apply lighlty to tank, fairings, nose and rear......then buff till shiny.
Then finally, grab some Bar Keepers Freinds (available in Asda), mix with water to a paste, slap it all over the cruddy looking downpipe. Now grab your Autosol and polish your can whilst the downpipe dries. Get out the wet and dry paper, working from 800 to 1600 and scrub the hell out of the downpipe. Then use a touch of wire wool for any stubborn crud......finally finish with autosol on a rag to polish.
The result.....a clean....shiny bike.....with the shiniest downpipe.

:smt101 hot air dryer?! that's a lot of effect.... I just use to give my keys to drew and ask him to clean it! :D
Just need to be october 31st so i can get my zx6 :p
still have the same problem if the plugs get wet.... would it not?
yea but hopefully they wouldnt get as bad as the sv does
so you going to see if you like the sv first on full power?
Yea ill prob keep the sv through the winter
