If your old trusty vibrator takes 4 C NiMh batteries, connected in a series circuit which has a current of 10mA - what is the resistance? (in ohms! variables such as rohhypnol and gaffa tape aren't taken into consideration)

I thought you'd need something else as well as the current to calculate the resistance but it isn't given. And I can't seem to find a standard spec for the batteries? :scratch:

i'm actually doing a lot better m8ty. i was on beta-blockers and they drove me completely of my rocker. slightest little thing and i was going off on one. ask any of my mates and they will tell you that aint me. it took one of my best friends to tell me i needed to see someone about some anger management :smt076before i realised what i was doing and how i was acting. seen my doc and he suggested coming off my tablets one at a time to see if it were any of them. got round to the beta's and bingo it was like waking up after a bed dream. my depression is almost gone as are my mood swings. seriously though what a difference. i dont care if i die of a frikin heart attack tomorrow. i'm not going on those tablets again.

hence why i aint been on much. tiz was weird i knew what i was doing but i couldn't help myself. it was like stepping out my body and letting a raving nutter in while he went on a rampage and watching everything he was doing. weird as fek

C batteries are 1.5V each. Well they should be. Probably not exactly, but I'm guessing they want you to assume each battery is a perfect 1.5V

The forumla is

V
I R

So volatge = CurrentxResistance
Current = Voltage divided by Resistance
Resistance = Voltage divided by Current

Tara, I think that being in season now, a cherry sauce would go well. Might well do this tonight as well and try a few things out, but I've used it with game before and it really works, but the taste is personal and how much of each thing you add differs because all cherries are different, you may need to sweeten, season etc.

Anyway, get a punnet of cherries and half to remove the stones.
A glass of red wine
a glass of beef stock
1tbsp cornflour
1tsp cherry jam or redcurrant jelly

Depends on how you cook the duck, but if you are browning on the hob first, then transferring to the oven, use a different pan for the oven and make the sauce in the browning pan to get more flavour.

Deglaze over a medium heat by adding the wine to the duck juices. Cook off for a minute or two and then add the beef stock and cherries. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the cherries have broken down and taste. If it needs sweetening, add a little redcurrant jelly or cherry jam and taste again until you get it right for your liking.

To thicken, mix a little cornflour and water in a glass and add to the sauce until you have the consistency you want. You can use thickening granules as well if you wish, but don't use normal flour as this will make the sauce look pink and opaque.

In fact, with Venison, cherry and chocolate sauce is amazing.

Will send it tonight with the Duck recipe hun. Venison is a meat that has to be cooked carefully as it is so lean. Overcook it and it's horrible.

If you find it strong, a good way to get used to the flavour is stir frying it. It's brilliant in stir fries at it cooks so quickly and the strong flavours will help to mask the gaminess.

That 5 spice recipe I gave you....make some up and slice venison steaks (1 per person) into strips. Put the strips in a glass or ceramic bowl and put in 1tsp per steak of the fresh 5 spice, grate in 1 garlic clove per person, 1 inch fresh ginger (leave the skin on) per person, 1 red chilli per person, 1tbsp light soy sauce, 2tsp caster sugar and the zest and juice of 1 lime. Mix together and let it marinate in the fridge for anything from 10 minutes to a couple of hours.

Slice up some spring onions and bell peppers, heat up a wok or large pan unitil it starts to smoke, then add a tbsp of groundnut oil (not olive oil) and immediately add the marinated venison and bell peppers. Don't stir straight away, almost let it all stick by leaving it 30 seconds, then toss. After another 30 seconds, add some udon noodles (straight to wok type) and teh psring onions. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper and splash in 1tbsp rice wine vinegar and 1tbsp dark soy sauce.

Cook for a further 1 minute with the noodles in and serve immediately. You'll need to have all your ingredients ready and next to the hob as this cooks really quickly.

Chuck a good amount of chopped fresh coriander over to serve and trickle on a teeeeeeny bit of toasted sesame oil.

Edit: ahh got it, they're 1.2V which makes sense. So the sum is 4.8 / 10mA = resistance (480 ohms?...**** knows google isn't being very helpful regarding megohms and milli amps)

r u sure the glass has not rotated on one of the lamps and is that both lamps on? if so cover up each lamp and see if pattern is same for both.
