whats the actual consequences of the actions if found to be true?

fines? public humiliation? jail? removal from office?

i dont know why the media and public are getting so upset about it. or is it the fact a lot of people dont like BoZo rather than what has happened...... its not just BoZo that was there so how about publicly humiliating/name and shame ever single member that was there instead of just BoZo.

if found guilty the remove every single member that was there from office..........

Several learned folk (high court judges etc) have sated categorically that until the Plod actually start proceeding against anyone then there is no reason for any report by Gray to be redacted or restricted in any way, regardless of what it contains.
Gray doesn't have full control of it, she is working to the instruction of the PM and therefore must obey his will. If the PM and the Met have come to an arrangement or agreement (and the Met have published the fact that they have been negotiating with the Cabinet Office and thus PM) then she is over-ruled.

As for knowing what the report was going to include, I think that's a known unknown.

Independent inquiry? It doesn't meet any of the tests I'd apply.

Stinky-poos?

Edit - re the above post, the question of whether the PM misled Parliament is a fairly significant issue. Fines for anyone who attended and/or organised the events are a considerable aspect though in my mind of relatively little importance.

...because during the week of one party (May 20), 800 people received fines.
...because people's loved ones died and relatives couldn't be near.
...because weddings, funerals were all affected by the restrictions on numbers
...because these people set the damn rules.

The question isn't why some are getting upset, it's why everyone isn't in the streets with pitchforks.

Why Bozo? As previously mentioned he lied, he continues to lie, he never apologises, he sets the tone that the cabinet follows. Why are some Tories complaining? Because he's dragging the party down in the polls for the first time since 2019.

Yes, anyone attending the parties should also be punished.

I think it amusing and quite the ethical conundrum that BoZo is going to speak to Putin (about Ukraine) when the Tories get a lot of funding from Russians, some of our media is controlled by Russians and the upper end of the London housing market is helped by Russian oligarch's transactions.

I remember when it was the Labour Party that was allegedly tied to the Soviets, how things have changed.

Unfortunately, it's because most of the main stream press & social media don't show it/prioritise it as a top story & outlay the implications. (more than likely due to links between the parties). I mean if Cambridge Analytica were around, they could probably do something about it ;)

It's not difficult to establish rules were broken. The difficulty is remembering which rules applied to the public, and what applied to them . . . . . once that is known, we then know what rules they broke. But i think it was just a work thing :rave:

The fitter actually turned up today (unlike last week) and straight away found a wire was not connected. I stayed outside with him, pretending to just be chatty, so I could see what he did. It was flippin' obvious even to me that the unconnected wire only had about two mm of exposed cable so I'm not surprised it did not stay attached to the relay module. At least I know where it is now if anything else fails so I can check it myself. VERY shoddy workmanship.

On a brighter note I can now go and collect our new ebikes on Saturday. Yay.

I hope I don't get offered any more covid jabs now. The reaction to the last three has got progressively worse. The one I had yesterday has made me feel very ill indeed. I think I may turn down the offer of another one if it gets rolled out, much as I hate to do so.

We have an amazing segregated cycle path that runs from Bristol to Bath. Customer in today with a bike needing fixing after riding into rubble and breeze blocks placed across the cycle path at night, which she didn't see due to someone lying next to it pointing a very high power torch in her direction to blind her. Looks like the muggings are back on, taking advantage of the quiet segregated nature of the path to ambush people. Luckily she'd got away with just a damaged bike, but has heard of others who've not been so lucky in the last few days.

Now you're falling for the conspiracy theory.

Starmer was not the reviewing lawyer in the Savile case although he was head of the CPS at the time. in 2013 Starmer requested a review (by barrister Alison Levitt) of the failure to prosecute and she concluded she had reservations on the failure to prosecute. Starmer accepted her findings and apologised for the CPS shortcomings.

BoZo has withdrawn the comment but, as usual, refuses to apologise and, because of this he has lost his close adviser (Manira Mirza) who had worked for him for 14 years.

He made the statement to apologise for the way the police & CPS investigated the case, because of their actions there were no witnesses, so no evidence to bring a case against Saville. Even the case lawyer said it was nothing to do with Starmer.

He is not accountable for failure of the investigation by the Police.

That's what I thought too so I picked up the nearest tube which happened to say "trade".

The standard size is 310ml but there's now a trade size available which is 380ml and is about 45mm longer. If you buy the bigger gun (apparently) it will take the smaller tubes too.

Scottish Hydro had as far as i'm concerned the best customer service there was for an energy supplier. since ONO has taken over they have to be the absolute worst and a bunch of robbing awipes. i used to get overpayment back with absolutely no problems, now they rob you any way they can and make excuses about it as long as the money is in their bank.

i pay DD so any over payment on a billing cycle should be mine.. correct.. ermm no. lets say i pay £100 Month DD and my bill for the quarter is £200 that would leave £100 over payment that should be refunded or am i missing something?

As well as the fixed amount you can also claim on specific things like office equipment such as a new photocopier, or things specifically required for your job working from home, as I did when I worked part time freelance from home.
What you claim would depend on the job of course and the number of jobs done in the tax year.

Why do they ignore my choice of delivery day? i've selected for a reason. If i wanted it sooner, i'd ask for it sooner. And if i want to divert it to the local pick up point, it adds a further day onto it - which would have been my normal delivery day!

Royal Mail are just as bad around here. If i order something from a shop 20 miles away and they ship using 48 hour Royal Mail - it takes 7 days to arrive. If they use DPD it arrives the next day . . .
I avoid sending anything with them, unless they are the cheapest by a large margin - which is usually on large letters/small parcels.

I can understand restricting trucks to 60mph but vans and pick-ups? I was watching a Severn Trent van taking an age to overtake some trucks on a dual carriageway yesterday causing a nice tailback behind him. When I eventually passed him I saw the 'this vehicle is restricted to 50mph on single carriageway, 60mph on dual carriageway'.
A couple things occur to me, why 10mph below the maximum speed permitted, and how does this improve safety? You can just sense the frustration in other road users and you know what that leads to.

if you have ever driven a fully loaded transit then you would understand.. think barge in a stormy sea :smt048 all courier depots have weigh bridges and if your gross weight does not meet the spec you have to turn round and unload stuff till it does.

one of the worst roads in Scotland for getting a speeding ticket in a van is the one too Aberdeen.

Vans are subject to 60mph on a dual carriageway, if they're not car derived van (EG a Fiesta van is subject to Car speed limits)

https://www.gov.uk/speed-limitsAh, I don't know that. I was aware that trucks are limited to 40mph on single carriageways and that's another bone of contention when you live in a rural area and get stuck behind one for miles.

My van is limited to 60 everywhere.. just because it's crap.

Lots of people are caught out by the 60mph dual carriageway van limit and get tickets not realising.

If trucks are limited to 40mph on single carriageways the truck drivers around here don't observe that. They travel as fast as me on the bike or in the car when I am doing 60mph !

I had to apply the new Highway Code rules today regarding pedestrian priority when waiting to cross at a junction. In a town on a moderately busy road through a housing area, I (in car) wanted to turn right into a side road. A pedestrian was standing at the kerb in the side road.

Now the dilemma. Do I sit in the bigger road indicating right and wait for the person to cross, meanwhile holding up the traffic behind me for no apparent (to them) reason, the pedestrian just standing still waiting for me to turn? Do I turn into the side road and then stop, blocking the entry and only just clear of the bigger road and wait for the person to cross while they stand and look at me? Do I ignore it all and just turn in and drive on, let the person decide when it is safe for them to cross as was always the case?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goddam ****ing stupid rule, **** for brains idea from someone in Westminster.

Rather than totally p*** everyone off waiting behind me I turned into the side road and stopped, I and the pedestrian then looked at each other for what seemed like an age, I felt totally vulnerable and stupid sitting just into the side road when it was clear in front of me. Eventually they decided to cross and I could proceed as usual.

I felt so bad about what the situation had been I have decided I won't do it again. If the pedestrian is crossing then of course they have priority, but if they are just standing beside the kerb looking blank then I really don't want to be obliged to create what I felt was a dangerous situation.

Not on a very busy road but I stopped to wait for pedestrians to cross, (I wanted to turn right) and we just looked at each other for ages. May not have been too bad had an unfortunate accident happened though - it was outside the Doctors surgery so help would have been close by!

Help from a doctor's surgery? Ha! We still can't get a face to face appointment at ours. Telephone appointments only FFS!

How on earth they can diagnose properly without some sort of inspection or examination is beyond me - Google?:smt076

I think you have to judge the situation as to whether you are going to create a dangerous situation with other vehicles by waiting for a pedestrian to cross and hope the pedestrian has enough sense not to step out in front of a moving vehicle if you decide not to wait for them to start crossing. I agree, a stupid new rule . If I am the pedestrian I would tend to wave the motorist on and wait until it is safe to cross.

Royal "fail". They're just an expensive version of Hermes - to be fair, that's now probably an insult to Hermes . . . .

I ordered an item on Feb 11th, on a 48 hour delivery. I left it until the 17th to chase the sender as no updates were issued on tracking (i sometimes know it can be slow/missed).
They chased RM, on the 19th i got notification 'we have your parcel' and will deliver it on the 21st. I selected my local post office (which is 2 miles from the delivery depot which it is at) and they STILL failed to deliver it today - tracking shows 'still at delivery depot'.

Also ordered an item from Amazon on the 14th Feb, (unfortunately using RM as the courier) it was due by Thursday/Friday last week. It is also delayed- potentially up to the 23rd Feb . . . . (but probably longer)

They seem to be they make money by charging people for a service they cannot supply. And losing parcels too. Had plenty of those the last few months.

RM should stick to letters and let the Parcel delivery companies deal with anything not in an envelope.

I must be lucky because I've been ordering a lot of stuff on line recently and it's been delivered by Royal Mail/Hermes/DHL/DPD and I've not had a problem with any of them. I had a Hermes delivery today - forecast to arrive between 1:30pm and 3:30pm and it arrived at 2:30pm.

If I'm not home, they'll put the item in a wheelie bin (at the rear of the property) and leave a note. I've changed deliveries so they'll leave packages in my conservatory if I'm going out on the day they're going to deliver - no fuss, no bother.

GOTD - Bemoto insurance

With the new Bike incoming, i made a change to when it switches over, and need some cross over time on the day of trade in. Called them up & spoke to someone who arranged it. Paperwork arrives - its wrong. I email back to check (await 3 days for a response) yes it is correct & wrong. Reply to email (Monday) still no response.
Call on Monday night (on hold for 30 mins) no answer - request a call back which comes. Explain my issue and the operator says i'll get a call back Tuesday. Nothing happens. Wednesday. Nothing happens. I call this evening (multiple times) same thing; on hold for 30 mins, then leave a call back request. Nothing happens.

Don't think i'll be renewing with them due to their appalling customer contact abilities. My previous Insurance Broker always pick up in 3 rings (company policy/standard - well staffed offices/teams) Always. Email response is hours/the same day.

I've had the opposite experience.

When i took my policy out last year they called my back and said "sorry, but we mis quoted your policy it's actually £400 some odd (not the £270 i paid - which was everyone else's price in the market too). Said they'd absorb it, but that didn't fill me with much confidence as a) they should have been expensive b) only realised after paperwork was being confirmed/filed . . . .

Just had the week from hell. Work has been so bad I'm seriously looking at handing in my notice as soon as I can find something else.
To top it off, bought a new van, loaded it up with things to drop off and then to get to work, went out next morning and wouldn't start. Luckily just the (expensive) battery but really screwed up plans and getting to work. Created loads of stress and I hopped onto the DRZ to get to work to minimise my lateness.

Later in the day a gang of kids stole the DRZ right outside the shop in front of me. I chased them down the road and got it back. There's loads more to the story including... the Police took over an hour to attend and then making us keep one of the kids in the shop for two hours and also keep a dropped moped in the shop until it was collected an hour after closing.
They eventually gave the kid a lift home as he's too young to do anything with and they were ultimately f£$^£$ng useless and were so ****ed off with me to have been called out. They also had to ignore another bike theft they had radioed through that was happening up the road as they had no resources. Apparently it was three of the kids who took my bike getting another.

The Police know who they all are and can do nothing. Deliveroo riders have a network set up to notify each other of the whereabouts of the gangs as they have to avoid taking jobs near where they are as they target them doing their deliveries. A deliveroo rider witnessed me chasing them to get my DRZ back and showed me photos of the gangs surrounding shops locally to intimdate them and the Deliveroo whatsapp messages from the night before with maps of where to avoid etc. Ridiculous. We're now also apparently a target for revenge at the shop while we work as they have a history of returning and smashing place up. The Police's anwser when asked how we can stop that? "Ring 999". And supposedly wait over an hour for them to attend again!!

Then finally got the van running with new battery and went to do the drop off of parts in Bristol that was meant to happen three days ago and had a double flash leaving Bristol through a huge junction of lights. I'm fairly sure I was on amber when I went through and would have stopped for that too but I had an idiot tailgating me that I lost sight of so assumed he was right up behind me hidden in the blindspot. Also driving a new to me van I didn't want to slam the brakes on as they actually work on this van, unlike my old one. So now likely looking at £100 fine and 3 points.. having to notify insurance companies etc.

Also put a deposit down on a bike last week to replace 2 that I've had to sell. Money has been screwed and trying to pay off debts. I've checked what would happen to insurance quotes I had if I do get points and most quotes won't now insure me and the others are all sky high, So I might have to just not have the bike I've reserved and lose my deposit money too.

All this revolves around needing to do work that is becoming a complete p155 take too. I'm exhausted from work, have no life in between or time to recover, money is all going south and debts are building and I'm totally fed up.

I feel sick with tiredness and have one day to recover before I'm back to it.

How's that for a Sunday morning rant.

Blimey Adam. Why do these things always come along in threes? It's so ironic that a gang of kids can get away with theft and threatening behaviour but your accidental misdemeanor gets the full attention of the law. That's broken Britain for you.

F*cking hell, Adam, that's awful. Very sorry to hear all that.

Edited to add that even if you do get a NIP for a red light offence - which hopefully is unlikely as most cameras are not armed until 0.5 seconds AFTER the red light is displayed - you should get offered a course & fine, which does not need to be declared to insurers as it isn't a conviction.

Putin wants the demilitarisation of Ukraine as a condition of ending the war against Ukraine. So he can just walk into Ukraine without any resistance !!! He also talks about the West's propaganda which he describes as coming from 'the empire of lies '. Does he really believe these things - doesn't he see that most of the world has condemned his invasion of Ukraine - is he deranged ? Can't the Russian people see that he is lying and he always turns the truth around so it appears he is the victim ?
