Bike off the road. The clutch has been slipping little for a while; now a lot. It makes overtaking exciting. I'm no mechanic so its with my local garage owner, Sean. New clutch on order and he thinks the friction plates may be bent (if that means anything). Won't have the bike now until next week.

I should have taken a photo of the green chav mobeel that parked next to me today. Why is it, you park in the furthermost space away from everyone else with no others anywhere, but when you come back to your car someone has parked next to you? Not only that, but done a reverse park so bad, it's kind of diagonal in the box, so you can't possibly open the rear door, as it's ass end is about three inches away from your petrol cap, and you have to contemplate getting in the drivers seat from the passenger door? How their passengers got out I don't know!

They obviously didn't use mirrors or camera, and this time I wasn't around to shout at the mother chuffing prat.

Getting an email on Thursday asking you to be in work this morning at 8am to take a photo - which required getting up at 5.30am and driving in instead of getting the train.

Arriving at 7.50am, calling the person who asked you to be in so early only to be told 'Oh it's OK, we took the pic on our phone just now so we don't need you'.

This. See my post from today in the Smile thread. I was pleased I can now use my car's nav properly on the bike but the super twisty route option was a nightmare. I was hardly a headless chicken though, more of a worried/clenched townie concerned about the gravel and horse doo doos that were on so many of the glorified farm tracks it took me down.

Migraine. I know I moan about these frequently but that's because I get them once a month and they really get me down. This month it hasn't knocked me right out, I managed to get up to Sally's tea party, but I couldn't proof read the MCC magazine at work yesterday as I just couldn't focus and I'd set the day aside to do it. Today I just feel tired and lethargic but I'm taking my nephews to London and wanted to be full of energy to give them a good day. I lose over a month a year to migraines. It's frustrating.

Nothing ruins a wedding quicker than guests all taking photos with flashes going off on their phones or all appearing in the background with their mobiles held up. Unplugged weddings are thankfully becoming more popular and one of my big gripes are 'guest photographers'.

If you're that desperate to take photos instead of leaving it to the well paid pro why not use a camera instead of a cr@ppy iphone?

At my daughters wedding, the official photographer (Who I was paying) was keen to get a couple of shots where I was the one taking the pics and had me staged with camera pointing at my targets.

She even borrowed my camera to make sure I had a few with me in the group. She did also say she wanted to try my Nikon as she was a Cannon buff.

Now that's fair enough, but I never understand people hanging over the aisle with their mobiles out. The pro ends up with an awful background, the tiny flashes can ruin a photo as the pro won't be using flash themselves. Also who are these images on the phones for? The phone owners are there so should just enjoy the moment, if it is for people not there then they can see the flattering beautifully composed shots taken by someone who had paid thousands for decent lenses and trained in the art of photography after the event.

I think guests should stop going to weddings through a 4" screen and learn to be there to experience and savour the day.

Chris is now paying the price of purchasing and then relying on a fruit related telephonic device when he owns a perfectly good camera [emoji46]

That is brilliant.

The woman standing in front of me with a large umbrella up trying to take photos of the Battersea Park fireworks on an ipad got my full wrath a couple of years ago. If you are going to a display and rain is forecast, wear a waterproof coat and leave the brolly at home. As for thinking that anyone will ever want to see her blurry images of the fireworks, get real, they will be terrible.

I do use my phone for photos, often my 'Photo a day' pics are taken on my S5 as there's no way I'm lugging a Canon 5Diii and 70-200 about all day when pedalo-ing on the Serpentine or climbing the O2. They have their place - but a sister's wedding or a concert are not such places.

I think most photographers have more than one type of camera. I have my phone camera an Ixus220 and the 700d. The ixus takes great photos and takes up little space when touring on the bike. And sometimes when going to an event it's best to leave the cameras at home. Enjoy the occasion with your eyes and not through a lens.

Whinge, whine, whine, moan... I guess misery really does love company. If it smells, looks, behaves differently or just occupies the space we want to be in then let the hating begin.

Yesterday a guy came into the office and started a rant about road hogging, uninsured, law breaking cyclists oblivious to the fact that two out of three people in the office ride... within the law and with liability insurance... and those bl**** motorcyclists... Eventually he was talked around to a moderate stance of all it takes is a bit of patience... Breathe and relax. :lol

Sh*te cheese screws. I knew the screws that hold the rear fairing on were tight so I put my full weight on the impact driver and used a nice sharp new bit but it just twisted out the centre of the damned screw so now it is down to the Dremel and manual impact driver/club hammer. If they had used copper grease, cheese screws would have been OK.

Next time don't put any weight or pressure on the impact.
Pressing down or turning. That's usually what strips screws out and breaks bits.
Just make sure you have the correct bit, hold it in place and give it a few licks from the hammer and be amazed. ;)

We have 2 dogs and one carpet. I can't think of a single occasion when they've been sick anywhere other than on the carpet. I think they actually run off upstairs just to puke on it.

Ha ha. Our dog only does the carpet too. We bought a Rug Doctor spot cleaner in the end.

Wife need to clean the carpet this morning. There must be a bug going round the doggy world.

Our puppy chundered on the carpet yesterday, then followed up by nipping upstairs for a quick wee on youngest boy's bed, not sure if it's a bug or just brain fever because he's been house trained for weeks now!

We had a 12 year old Jack Russell that developed rear end problems and it was an extremely unpleasant time for him (And us). His final 6 months were weekly vets visits with repeated messages about quality of life.

We had invested in carpet cleaners, steam cleaners for the wooden floors etc. But when we finally gave into the inevitable it was a fortune recarpeting the house and what did the daughter do. Another rat dog. Cute. But still another dog.

Ours is getting on 9 months old now (Pomapoo, so he's cute), but he has some pretty horrible habits, eating what other dogs/horses/cats leave behind is chief among them - I'm seriously thinking about muzzling him when we go out because it'll sometimes make him throw up, regurgitated poo doesn't make his breath or the house smell too nice!

I'm wondering if his reverting to peeing on stuff indoors is perhaps his hormones kicking in as he becomes a young man, so I'm having a consultation with the vet next week to see if he could be relieved of a couple of things to help remedy this :)

We had to muzzle our last dog when out as she also ate things we'd rather she didn't. Glass stomach too so it was a nightmare every morning until we decided enough was enough and built her a run for the kennel outside and she slept out there for years. It obviously calmed her down as she never pooped in the run overnight as she was perhaps less stressed about the possibility. She grew out of the eating problem, thankfully.

He's been completely clean today, wife has just got home and he's fine, I think it's possibly a bit of dog puberty confusing his head perhaps :)

I'm hoping that he will also grow out of the eating thing, but I have heard that some dogs never do - my mate's dog still happily tucks in, but he's a Beagle and they're disgusting dogs :)

Some dogs do, some don't. Ours tries his luck with poo 💩 (border collie) but is fine when he nabs some. Fox crap on the other hand...

Swin if you are off lead, use leave but be very firm and it'll help

One of the regular dog visitors to our office always bounds up and sits on my lap for a better view out of the window. Good as gold and no trouble. This morning he managed to smear **** over my shirt and trousers. Whether it was his own or he'd rolled in something else's I have no idea. Had to go home and change so I didn't smell of **** all day!
