Paper today said that 52% of the US population believe in right to have guns over restrictions.
I thought it was a vocal minority who thought that.
Hmm, I'm shocked it is that low. Quite certain it's much higher where I live.
As someone who lost his rifles then pistols over the UK knee jerk reactions to gun ownership, I would caution those in the US to be careful what they ask for.
We who were the legal responsible gun owners in the UK said at the time that if guns were made illegal, only criminals would have them. Yes, there are still plenty of guns around if you know where to ask. But they are not being given up simply because it is an offense to own them.
I'm not for asking for anyone to turn any guns in.
I'm in favor of a 6 month waiting period with a more comprehensive back ground check on sales of hand guns and assault rifles.
i'm all for a no guns policy. we dont need guns on civvy street here in the uK. ok in some rural parts of the US, Canada, etc etc. you need them but why does someone in New York or any of the big US cities need one, its not like a bear is going to go strolling down the street now is it.
guns are only good for one thing and thats killing.
Guns are also a sport.
Clays are an enjoyable test of skill.
My son also has plenty of good fun with scouts target shooting..
I have a firearms certificate and a .22 rifle. I use it t cull rabbits on 3 local farmers land. They were overrun with them when I was first asked to cull them. So there is a need for some people to have rifles at least. No real argument for handguns though.
Hand guns only really for competition shooting I'd say.
Guns are themselves harmless,it's the motive of their use that's the problem,America will not surrender it's arms and nor will the criminal element,so guns are here to stay, the irony of it is you'll soon need a gun to protect you from someone with a gun!!!

:D
and who are the only people who benefit from this.. the arms dealers. who is one of the biggest arms dealer in the world... hmmm let me see now. if the USA, UK, France, Russia etc.etc never sold gun each country would be completely up shizz creak without so much as a spoon.
say what you like about guns and other weapons they only have one use and that is destruction. ban the lot of them i say. its easy to pull a trigger in the heat of things.
can you tell that i dont like guns or the military
Who benefits Bibs? Well, if you have a pension, then you do. Almost all pension fund will have BAe in their portfolio and BAe is the second biggest arms company in the world.

Difficult to do sometimes but I do the same. I was worried about the office carpark for a while as I'm surrounded by company car drivers but after talking to some of the perm staff who get cars it turns out they get really shafted if they hand them back with ANY damage so they're actually really considerate. And most of them have Audi's!!!

We have two horse riders locally doing the same.
I always try to avoid parking at the side of a two door car as they generally have longer doors, or any car with a baby seat in the back!!!

What I have noticed with the POLITE riders is that on motorways when they overtake the dreaded lane two huggers, they tend to hop over into lane one,as that lettering and checker tape does look very similar to the word POLICE,!!!

There is something funny about well spoken people swearing like troopers :D
they pizz me off no end. up here the roads are pretty empty so you can see them up ahead in the distance and think i better slow down a tad its a police bike only to catch up with them and discover its an asswipe. there is even a few of them up here with fully livered bikes as well. i'm all for people being seen on bikes but they just take the pizz. ooohhh and i usually find they cant ride for toffee. dont they know they are spoiling other bike riders fun. ooohhh there's a new name for them the 'fun police'.
I sussed them because of the way they were ridding.
The fuzzy wuzzies don't sit in the overtake lane doing 65...

Not really my gripe, but traveling east bound on the A13 we got held up by nose to tail traffic. I said to my kids in the car, so what's the problem today, accident, broken down car, tractor???
So we trundled along, what was the hold up?
Everyone on our side of the dual carriageway ogling at a full gypsy funeral procession including horse and carts, taking up both lanes of the westbound A13 on their way to wherever they were going?
so behind this procession was at least a 3 mile tailbacknof traffic.
my daughter videoed it as we went past, I'll see if i can post it up, as to see it, is to believe it!

My gripe today is Business Development Managers.
They are over inflated sales people who think it acceptable to 'invite you to a meeting' and spam your social media, pretend to be your 'friend' or 'connection'
If you say you are not interested they just reply that they will call again in 1 or 3 months.
I'm not interested, not your friend, have no connection with you and I don't want you calling me. Ever.
Can I get a restraining order against everyone with Business Development Manager as their job title?

Had the displeasure of meeting one of these last winter, was so bright traffic had to slow right down due to the dazzle.
Mentioned it to him one night and he just laughed it off, saying "it's working then?"
Next night I met him on the same road and gave him full beam in the cage, looked in the mirror as I went past and saw his tail light disappearing down the verge.
Funnily enough, the light seem to be adjusted a little better when I next saw him. :)

I doubt it would make his head explode because the regs are aimed at the temperature of stored water not the temperature of the water at the outlets which would be controlled by thermostatic mixing valves. Otherwise pretty much every hospital, nursing home and school in the country would be contravening those regs.
