I drove from camber on the south coast back to North yorkshire today and couldn't agree more with maxi zap.
Outside lane muppets doing 50 with nothing on the inside lane

coz there is nothing between the ears.

TBH they are panicking that much about being on a MW that it takes all their concentration. no seriously.

What's wrong with A14 at Kettering. I know it well. Or as the locals call it, Kettrin.

The current roadworks being carried out on that stretch

It's always like that, Steve, I really loathe that section. Imagine my joy on joining it on the southbound section last night to find it gridlocked. A lorry had blown it's engine so that is a common problem. The average speed cameras don't solve anything, in fact I think make it worse. There was never a history of accidents on that part, so why install them.

When I was claims handling one of our drivers was involved in a collision and was walking around when the Police arrived in a brand new police car. The police put him in their car while they waited for the rest of the emergency services to arrive.

Then the ambulance arrived and our driver, when asked if he had any pain, replied that his neck was a little sore. So the medics got the fire service to cut off the roof of the police car.

Yup, exactly the example I was referring to, although in our case it was a day old Landcruiser that the HATO's had just taken delivery of. And drivers wonder why they now have to stand around in the peeing rain until an ambulance arrives......

My gripe today is Kevin fartface Pietersen. He's got a book out this week. In which he tears into his former teammates and coaching staff. Which is all very well but the biggest joke is when he talks about how he was devastated and broken by a parody Twitter account. In a world where so many bad things are happening, him talking about how life destroying some fake tweets were just shows how shallow and self centred he is.

Yep, I'm just about to give it a go, although my doc's advise was to gargle with paracetamol, which usually helps.

Yes, I'll give it a go, but usually at this stage I'll need antibiotics. I know its frowned upon, as its no good for a viral infection, but I don't get ill very often, but when I do, then it seems to result in something like this which only gets better after antibiotics. I'd rather not take anything if I can get away with it.

I did that by accident in my car once. Out in the countryside, I shot under a low railway bridge at around 40. As I went under it I saw a ford and just before I hit the water, I noticed two walkers leaning on the rail of the footpath. It was too late to slow down and the sheet of water went and soaked them from head to foot. I didn’t dare stop to apologise.
