the whole story is this;

i got a quote from MCE(broker) to be insured by KGM Motors(Insurance company). I was quoted £555.39(bargain). I rung up MCE and asked them if the quote was real as it was quite cheap, the guy on the phone told me there and then that yes that is a valid quote and that if i buy it now it will be that price.

I go online and pay the £555.39 in one go as i hate direct debits, 5 days later i get a refund cheque from MCE saying my policy has been cancelled. I ring up and ask why and they explain that they don't accept any new business with KGM as they have stopped trading with them. The reason they are still quoting for KGM online is because if i was 24 they would price match the KGM quote but as i 19 they can't. So now they have cancelled my policy left me with no insurance and no money till cheque clears.

I rung again for more info and the guy on the phone let it slip that they havn't been able to trade with KGM since the end of august meaning they have had a month and a half and they still lied to me on the phone and allowed me to buy the policy so i have launched a complaint with trading standards and i am going to ring the insurance board thing tomorrow and try and sort out some sort of cover for me as all other quotes are stupidly high.

MCE are ******s, I've had loads of problems with them, i think my car is with KGM or one of the bikes is, KGM have probably stopped dealing with MCE due to the fact the miss sell so many policies. i took 2 policies out with them and had to contentiously phone up to change my details (which they charged me £40 each time) when it was there fault they were wrong in the first place. Then to top it all off they automatically renewed a policy despite me having written permission from them not to do so then took the money out of my account using my card details from the original quote, again without permission. I got it all refunded, bank charges refunded and calls refunded but it took 2 months...... they are crooks, and need to be rambo'd
