Think they will be doing a separate headlining tour anyway, which will be cheaper and possibly better.
Thinking about it, its probably a good thing they have redone donington, the first year i went it was on part of the track and it must have gotten ruined
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 09:44 PM
Donny was a state.
There is a Vid by Nicklaus from MCN somewhere on there website showing the state it was in!

It would be cool. Must be scary though. It's such a huge circuit and there's no way you'd ever learn it
metalhead19
03-12-10, 09:51 PM
I thought it was brilliant in a car, but dno about a bike
going on track on a bike is mega fun :D

yep :D only done Combe but going to do more next year
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 09:54 PM
Its a fast flowing circuit so thats a advantage.
I can't wait to find out if the RAF Leeming TD is on next year. I'm only doing one its going to there
yep :D only done Combe but going to do more next year
Ive only done silverstone southern circuit with ron haslam race school, want to go back next year and go out on the blade, really want to do brands hatch, work do a few track sessions at brands but no way am i taking my own bike round
metalhead19
03-12-10, 10:04 PM
Your job will give you a blade to take on track?! :o
Have heard brands is good, so gna try and do that, but want to do the GP circuit.

Woman!!! thats what R&G's are for!
I wouldn't mind doing East Fortune, but you need a ACU licence to go there.
Croft is a pig to get booked on
and i don't fancy a 200 mile ride to get to a track

I wish
im saving up to go out on the blade at ron haslam race school for next year
work will prob let me out on the blade on the road

Go to Cadwell HU you'd die.
There is bikes regularly going home in bin bags, and it the org consensus seems to be take the crash bobbins off

Cadwell in a car was fantastic, cant image how tough it must be on a bike though

Interesting as it was described by a few people i know that have done it.
Wouldn't mind doing Oulton Park its meant to be an epic on the full circuit
never tracking my own bike
unless i buy a crappy old thing to track
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 10:38 PM

Why not?
SV, CBR600F, had a FZR400 which got broke :( but i just dont want to take my lovely bike on track, if i had the money id find myself something now but will be a couple of years yet metinks
metalhead19
03-12-10, 10:51 PM
Ah thats fair enough. Simple solution though....dont bin it :p
metalhead19
03-12-10, 10:52 PM
I really enjoyed my SV on track though, however i cant afford to rent a bike so dont really have a choice. But thats fine by me :D
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 10:56 PM
I have no worries about taking my SV on the track as I know what my set-up and tires will do.
Just need some leathers suitable gloves and boots and R+G's for the bike
and some mates up for one
easy to say, not so easy to do, felt like i almost binned the 600RR at silverstone
metalhead19

This is very true. However does depend on how hard your pushing it. And on the RR it wasnt your bike, you hadnt ridden it before and got to know it ect.
Anyways, im gna go make me a bacon sandwich. See you folks later

It's different if your jumping of a 33 brake sv onto a 130bhp screaming 600.
I would be tentative with a bike i've never ridden.
The IAM group I'm affiliated to use 5000 miles as a rule of thumb to get the true feel for a bike.

i done one session was out on second and the instructors were telling / teaching me to get my knee down, from the pics i got i prob wasnt that far over when it felt like i almost stacked it but i scraped my toe slider and didnt expect it, i think thats what it was mainly
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 11:10 PM
thats disconcerting HU, then i'm boot down before peg down.
I need rearsets tbh
depends on position of foot, on my sv i used to have middle of foot on peg and was always scraping now ive started putting my toes on the pegs and same when i was on track day, so think thats what got me different position so wasnt expecting
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 11:19 PM
dsa flatfoot posistion i scrape.
Toes on peg i deck out and that is efffffffing terrifying
lol
i just wanna ride my bike last time was only a week ago but seems like ages and i think ive forgotten how to :(
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 11:26 PM
it aint bothered TBH as mine needing a bit of work and a new tire
i need new tyres, again next year  front has 1.6mm and both are crappy b'stones
Hey Bibio
any way, night all :smt006
The IAM group I'm affiliated to use 5000 miles as a rule of thumb to get the true feel for a bike.
then they are all feckin plonkers who dont know how to ride. you should have a feel for a bike in under 100 miles if you cant then you shouldn't be riding.
night HU. dont bite the doll.
DarrenSV650S
03-12-10, 11:33 PM
Hi bib
Hi bib
not yet but i feel i should be. now where did i put that stash from the 80's :D
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 11:39 PM
Hi Bib.
I don't subscribe to that theory meself
Night HU
so if i book an IAM course and they can teach me nothing do i get my money back?
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 11:47 PM
nope! I learned things from it as i had habits which needed sorting.
I rode closer to the police pace on the test than the IAM pace, as that comment was made
of course you have bad habits you are an individual. driving/riding is mainly about observation the more you take in whats going on ahead and around you the better your driving/riding will develop.
andrewsmith
03-12-10, 11:59 PM

anyway I'm off to bed, trying to not justify buying the M4 system thats for sale

Hardly Policemans ball! It's just a shift night out. My shift and the shift we overlap with are going for a meal and a boogie. Don't think I will be drinking though.
