i'm good. just trying to think of a way to quieten my little 2stroke genny so i can use it at my lockup as the 2k one is way to noisy. there is quite an echo down there and even though the person that owns the lockups is cool about it there are houses right next to it and i dont want to annoy them.

If im right, the exhaust is fairly integral to the running of a two stroke? Would it not be possible to surround the genny with something? I know when we need to get our big diesel number out at work, its a big lister engine, sounds like a spitfire running, but eardrum rippingly loud. We tend just to surround it with big bales of peat and it quietens it down enough for us.

yes but the expansion has already been done and besides its a cheepo 750w jobby i got for camping. it only has to run a cppl fluro battens.

i'm thinking along those lines. i'm going to have to keep it in the lockup while working so i have to vent it. copper tube and a baffle can is starting to look like the ticket.

Out of interest bibs, how much does a lockup set you back, and what kind of size is it?

single with no power in a compound of about 100+. brick built with wooden doors well looked after. £80 a 1/4 bout £7 a week. they had power at one point but ppl were taking the p so landlord put a stop to it. sounds pricey but its worth it to me as its storage as well as for bike.

Thats not bad at all. I'd be inclined to look into something like that as I don't mind the bike being at the house over summer, but at winter there's not much point, and i've got no where inside to keep it here, nor do i really have space to build somewhere.

once i get the power sorted i'm going to get a site heater or callor gas heater which ever is cheepest. i'm itching to get things moving on the bike and will hopefully be sorted by the end of next week fingers crossed.
