Anyone know if you are entitled to travel expenses for a job interview? It's all the way through in Glasgow even though the company is based in Edinburgh.

You can ask the company you are going to the interview with. I know we pay expenses to anyone that comes for an interview with us. We paid for flights from ireland and one from scotland and hotel bills for 2 candidates last year. Ring them and ask them.

Edinburgh to Glasgow is hardly a million miles. Crikey, whats it going to be a tenner?
DarrenSV650S

No it's like 100 miles each way from here to Glasgow. I'm not gonna bother asking them though because it looks like quite a small company

I think your dietitian is a very wise & learned individual.
They are the food of the Gods crafted by blond, scantily clad big breasted female virgins high upon Mount Olympus.
They contain all of the major food groups (biscuit, chocolate, sugar, chocolate flavoured cream & words) and provides vital energy to those recovering from knee surgery.
DarrenSV650S

What is your bourbon eating strategy? I try to completely take off one side of biscuit without disturbing the cream. I'm sure they have changed something though, because I used to be able to remove the occasional biscuit side in one go, without breaking it. Now it snaps it to many different parts, meaning I have to go around the perimeter of the biscuit, slowly removing more and more of the side. But eventually I am left with a little mound of broken biscuit in the middle, completely stuck to the cream. And have to resort to scrapping it off with my teeth. But then of course disaster strikes and the surface of the cream is disturbed and I must try again with another biscuit.

Dunk them & destroy. :smt072
i am eating a warm sausage roll, i dont think there are many finer things in the world...I'm with you on that. However, i had a salad with an Asda Southern fried chicken fillet.
I like to lightly dip mine in a glass of milk and then eat it in two bites.

I like to treat my biscuits how I treat my women. Time and care must be taken.
Far point, I treat them the same also, although one women is enough for me but I demolish a packet at a time no probs.
I have that issue where I eat a load in one go. However I've managed to leave my pack of bourbons unopened all week on my desk :D
Blimey has it come to this? Well, i am half man half biscuit. Custard creams are my fav everyday biscuit along with the more dull Garibaldi followed by Bourbons.
Special biscuits include Lemon Puffs and Foxes Crunch Creams.
Not a fan of plain biscuits like Rich Tea or Digestives. I don't drink tea or coffee, so i just eat them whole in one go, cause i is like that.

While I appreciate that we are all different & this diversity makes up life's rich tapestry, I must point out that the Custard Cream is simply the pale skinned, shorter, chubby cousin of the far superior bronzed beauty that is the Bourbon biscuit.

I've eaten 20 custard creams this week (it's the real reason the bourbons haven't been opened) ;)

TBH, I have started a diet today and I'm already having to fight the craving for some biscuity goodness.
Killed a packet yesterday to keep the biscuit demons at bay (at least until I decided to have a blow out).
I struggle with being good with food too.
I had a mcdonalds for lunch :D

Put weight on after the knee op and as I can't jump around much until it's betterer, I've put myself on a crapola reduced diet.
I believe I'll do okay as long as I treat myself occasionally rather than cutting stuff out all together.
Not had a beer for x2 weeks while the pain killers are doing their thang and I've not missed it but WILL be having one as soon as my course runs out so I don't crave one (if that makes sense).
Does make sense.
I'll make sure I drink a lot of alcohol on your behalf this weekend.

Given the choice I'd always take a custard cream over a bourbon. Much nicer taste :)
I've been on a diet for a while now. Haven't had any cider in over 3 months. I've lost about 1.5 stone. I'm now 9.75 stone and yet I still have a gut! I'm not giving up until I have a 6 pack

Sent my Laptop in for repair on Tuesday (the 2nd time in 3 months) as it was failing to recognise the hard-drive.
I start it tonight to be met with programmes that hadn't been installed and were still on the screen (I installed them myself, didnt have much choice)
On inspecting the laptop they have chipped the paint on the lid and there are quite a few deep scratches on the lid (quite easy to see because it is red)
DarrenSV650S
15-04-11, 08:13 PM
Yeh they are muppets in there. Just take it back and complain
What kind of laptop is it?
minimorecambe

I intend too.
Its a Dell Inspiron 1545 (I know they are crap - realised too late though)
DarrenSV650S
15-04-11, 08:19 PM
Is that the one you get to choose the colour of? My sister got a new del recently and got an orange lid
yup sounds about right for those muppets. are you sure that its actually your laptop?
was in a queue in pc world once listening to a conversation of a woman who was in picking up her computer at the tek desk. went like this:
w. so its sorted then?
tek. yup
w. what was wrong with it.
tek. windows was all wonky
w. how did you sort it.
tek. formatted it.
w. did you back my data up before you done that?
tek. no
w. WHAT.
then she burst into tears.
aspires that all her business files, home photos and vids were on it and she only had a partial backup.
PC World guaranteed not to know a bloody thing about computers. they are worse than idiots. they dont care about othere peoples property as its only a 9-5 for them and most teks that are there are failures at UNI or the crap graduates.
