Afternoon
i've spent the morning filling in insurance claim stuff as my cabnet was broken into on sunda and about £300 worth of gear was knicked
sh!t gavino.... do you think its that bloke again that you work with?!
My colleague has called in sick AGAIN!
Wideboy
31-08-10, 08:09 AM
Yeah it was him as seen him on cctv, he only pinched my drills..... how much do you want to bet he doesn't loose his job
Do you know anyone wants to buy some cheap tools? Some came into my possesion yesterday? If you do, let me know. Theyare mainly Woodworking type tools, most of them hardly used by the looks of them.
Yeah it was him as seen him on cctv, he only pinched my drills..... how much do you want to bet he doesn't loose his job

I reported him to his manager and he just come in in a fury after bollocking him saying " tomorrow he is coming in here with your tools, appologising to you and im going to stand there and make sure he does it, personally if it was me i'd have punched his ****ing lights out".... obviously i cant but i explained i already threatened to at crimbo when he started on me for no reason
all i can say is i want to be a mason
But i though that you were a Joiner? Why would you want to work with stone?

So he has admitted to stealing them, been caught on CCTV and has admitted he has your tools and has got off with saying he will bring them in tomorrow and say sorry! WTF!

Ah Gav, that's beyond hun. Agree with Gav and Lily...and Rob, lol. You need to call the police non-emergency number and report theft. When you give your statement, include what happened before and that through good faith, you decided to allow the company to deal with it internally, but this time, you lack faith in the management to resolve this and feel that you have been left with no choice but to report it to them.
Don't worry about the way work deal with this...you have enough to back you up so that if they get rid of you, after 4 years with them, you could take them to a tribunal and wipe the floor with them!
T - :-( Try and do as much housework and physical stuff as you can until Ryan goes to sleep and then you'll hopefully be shattered enough to nod off with him as well.
Morning everyone else. Today is mostly going to be a good day. The sun is shining, the dogs went out this morning and their breath was all foggy because of how cold it was, there was even a little frost where the sun hadn't hit the grass yet and I've been supercharged with the housework. All done and dusted and half finished weeding the front patio. :-)
Now to wait for the sun to dry the grass out so I can mow the lawn.

Firstly, not being told about new starters stinks!
Secondly, what are the bailiffs there for?
O just an unpaid bill of 96k..... its amazing it will be paid today by CHAPS
Our purchase ledger department are crap.... your lucky if you get anything paid on time. When it comes to year end we don't pay anybody for a month and a half to make the balance sheet look better! I've set all my things up on DD as its the company fleet and because they didn't pay that on time once I had vehicles started to be reposesed!

Well, highlighted bit is pretty standard, but it's a bit dumb to let it get to repo stage...lol
I know it just makes me laugh!
I got a bit of a telling off from the purchae ledger moaners! (all older woman who work slower than snails! and it's quite funny watching them use a computer!) when i put the cars onto DD, they got quite a shock when I raised my voice back at them, that they can explain to the FD why his car got taken away from his country estate with all his neighbours to see! Amazing no problems since! haha
I'll just go back to sitting in my corner now watching the world go by!
PS: Gavin you called the police yet?! I hear constructive desmissal claim?!

that sounds like an awesome trip/ride. what's stopping you mate if anything ?
kinda thing i would like to do, I keep thinking of the places i could ride too. but all in good time, having never driven (much) or ridden in Europe small steps firsts.
DO it!
Just need the cash as its not going to be cheap
Can I come?
If you can finance the trip then we are a go :)
I cant even finance a service on a bike at the moment :)
It's my gf's 21st next week so I'm skint :(
that sounds like an awesome trip/ride. what's stopping you mate if anything ?Money and fitness to be honest. The Fitness i could work on over the winter so thats not an issue really, its the cash side of things. I reckon that it could be done in about 3 weeks which is a lot of riding.
Would get the chunnel to Calais, then ride up to Denmark, then on ito Sweeden, the entire length of it, then into Norway and up to Nordkapp. Then on the way back to Esejberg and probably get the ferry back to Harwich, or do the ride back round to Calais, probably quicker and cheaper then the ferry (18.5 hours on an old barge!)
Things i would need/Borrow
Europe Satnav
Get fit
Stacks of cash (No camping on this trip)
Idealy, Triumph tiger!
Set of tyres.
Maybe next year, who knows :)
robh539
31-08-10, 02:12 PM
just looked it up that would be amazing, norway is a beautiful country. i have only been to Bergen and 20 miles out of the town. i bet the north is even more beautiful. I would leave the trip to much longer mind, unless your investing in bike skies ;) lol
Give me two weeks, a toothbrush, two jars of jam and half a pint of aspall and I can have all that arranged for you.

that's understandable, would not feel or look the same again. new roads new sights, new stories. well looking forward to that right up too lol
Fizz, youre the only person i know that can give me a run for my money in the Grumpy stakes :)
How many miles a day did you do on average and do you feel you could do more, or less?

31-08-10, 03:44 PM
We did 2100km in the first 3 days which was to much and I was on my limit. Coming back we reduced the daily kms to maybe 250 or 300 we bascially rode till we felt tired and then stopped. I prefered it that way as it made it more relaxed If you read the trip thread I kept a log of the milleage so should give you more idea. Having no fixed plan is definately the way to go.
Yeah, i have just read a couple of things on the net of people that have done this sort of thing and they reckon 150-350 a day depending on the roads. Most of them are 40 & 50mph roads and they are strict apprently on speeding etc!

Yep, in the trade, you dont feck with a mans tools.
When i started on sites at the end of the eighties, you would have got beaten up if you messed with some blokes tools, no if no buts, a beating would have been imimnent.
Your company sends out a terrible message if they allow things like this to happen and do feck all about it.
