yah I'd herd rumours going about that they were ****, i had an acer laptop which was **** i'd rather not buy another piece of crap

wouldent have another hell if you paid me. for a start the boards are upside down/back to front which makes the tower useless if the board goes pop or you want to upgrade. in fact i would not touch any mass market pc. build your own or pay me.

i built the one i got now but its ancient now and the power supply is cooked, rather than repair it i want to retire it to the workshop and get another laptop

you got a cheep acer then. mines is 6 years old and still going strong but i paid £1500 at the time.

to be honest all laptops are crap if its for your main use. they are a portable device not designed for constant use.

yup that looks ok. looks like it has shared graphics though but with the speed of today's memory that shouldn't be a problem.

separate chip yes and better than most but still shared. you will pay wads for dedicated graphics memory. TBH it dont matter that much these days.

you wont use all the power on tap with that machine if your only surfing and listening to music/watching movies.

I gotta say, im using an Acer laptop as we speak, i use it as my main source of computing, for leisure, work, and uni, and it's keeping up great. Im not a massive gamer, but I did have Half Life 2 installed for a while and it kept up no bother!
