Morning All I return to the world of the living just.

for once got loads to do - printing out address labels?? (that will take me half the morning to set up let alone print)
and i managed to cut my finger on my light switch (sympathy is always good!!!)

I know your pain actually. Bought a new microplane for the kitchen last night, took the guard off the front and ended up with a rather deep and nasty cut on the inside of my knuckle, but not from the grating blades. It was the top of the grating blade and it is sharp as a knife. No guard on that, no warning and I've never seen another grater or microplane with that edge being sharp. Today, a rather stern phone call is going to be made and letter written and if they don't do a recall, they're gonna wish they had. I cannot tell you how sharp it is and the worst thing, where it is on the microplane, I have hit my knuckles and heel of my hand many a time on other graters. It's a new product and it needs sorting!

Morning organs, how are we all today? Just completed my first gym session, and feel like jelly!

Oh, and I made the easiest and best chocolate mousse last night..NOM nom nom nom nom!

100g Dark Chocolate (70%+)
300ml Double Cream
50g Caster Sugar
1 Egg White

Break up the chocolate and put in large bowl and heat half the milk to scading point in a pan (when bubbles are just coming to the surface, but not boiling). When the cream is at scalding point, pour it over the chocolate and stir with a wooden spoon until all the chocolate is melted into the cream. Then pour in the cold cream and stir together. Now whisk the egg white in a seperate bowl to soft peak stage. Add the 50g sugar 1tbsp at a time, whisking each in before adding the next and then whisk to firm peaks. Now, fold the egg white into the chocolate mix one third at a time until all incorporated and spoon carefully into glasses, espresso cups or ramekins and pop in the fridge. They'll be ready in an hour.

All I can say is I used rather large wine glasses as I made double the above recipe and Dan and I polished them off in no time last night. Will make it any time for any guest...super duper easy!

I am sat on the sofa upstairs and the birds started using the fat balls outside the doors a few days ago. This morning, it seems that we have a group of long tailed tits and they, with the blue tits and robin are loving it. I am loving watching them. I think long tailed tits are now my favourite, they are sooooo cute :-)
