party at your house!!
no not really. Larger for instance prefers temps from about 6-18c. stout like a constant 18-22c. cider is dependant on type but mostly about 10c.
airing cupboards tend to get a bit warm for brewing. i use a fish tank heater set at 18 for most things while Larger stays outside (dont brew Larger in the summer) and is ready when its ready its also a tricky burger to get right.
party at your house!!
i only got 8 while i was down there. i think there is 60+ bottles of mixed stout and special.
well 1 down 7 to go. this stout is feckin brill and is conditioned perfect. its a bit like nuclear brown but a lot smother without that 'sick' taste. nothing like guinness (than god) well i lie its like guinness original.
andrewsmith
12-02-11, 10:55 PM
i hate Guinness, but will drink stout.
worked at a micro brewery pub last yr so I know what ale should taste like
its a 'fizzy' stout. if you like stout you would love this andy. i'm on my second and its going down a treat. if you like 'hopy' beers then its not for you. its got a nice caramel after taste that lingers but a bit 'gobby' in the back of the throat.

I like things like this
http://www.petersen-stainless.co.uk/blb/merchandise.html
But drink most types of beer as we had to keg test most days, brown ale at 5.7% was hellishly strong

;)
well i dont know what this is but when i checked the SG before bottling it was about 4.5. i'm on my second bottle and its giving me a nice warm glow and that little smirk i get so it must be good. its tooooo easy to drink, i had better slow down NOT.
i promise not to bring Curio out tonight but i might just for some slagging and entertainment.

;)
hope you never made that?
u tried that box yet andy?

I havn't bib
aint had a chance really working most days and its pee'd down the last 2 weekends.
If its dry I'm going to test fit it tomorrow, as i need to have a proper look and see what else needs serviced on the bike
na worries. better making ££ than pizzing with bikes.

Cheers mate
your stuck in a catch 22 tho
HU scare yourself on a sidecar thats a good laugh
i want another go on a SV :(
yes HU SV's rule m8. as a 'real world bike' they take some beating. IN4's are nice but get a bit ho-hum after a while. you know what they say once you have ridden twins there is no substitute :smt040.
i could just about have any bike i want up to about 10k and what do i choose? yup an SV650. great on fuel and handle sublime when tricked out.
the only other bike i would even consider is a big smoker just for shizz and giggles. a KH750 or an RG500 in an modern frame would be mega fun
andrewsmith
12-02-11, 11:56 PM
HU what you'll find, same as my mate after a 100 miles on VX800 the appeal of a v-twin makes sense.
The way I'm looking at bikes atm:
- IL4 it would have to be a MV Augsta
- Jap IL4 GSXR 400 they are one of the nicest bikes to be on
- Smoker RS250
- Nutter KTM i don't care which one as long as its a modern 1 :smt040
Thing is my bike does all i want it too and its mentaly quick, sticks to the road like **** to a blanket but i think i miss my SV, just need a real nice hot summers day to make me realize why i got the ninja, perhaps i should become a weekend warrior
DarrenSV650S

sticks to the road like **** to a shovel
:smt043
I really would like your bike Holdup. Swap ;)?
yes it probably does everything you could ask of it and goes a gizillion miles an hour. but does it have that 'thing'.
speed aint everything but enjoyment is. you sound like you just need time to 'gel' with it.

Think i need time to gel as well, trouble is i got it wrong time of year and so far ive probably only done 100 miles or pure fun riding and even then it was on crappy tyres as they were both ****stone hypersport tyres and the front was just above the legal limt and the roads were rather greasey :smt115
Sv :D
Which SV
keep it HU and wait. dont get me wrong IL4's are fun if ridden correctly but personally i dont like them as i always feel 'on the boil' riding them. maybe its me and i'm getting older and just want to go places and not at mega speeds.
Yea i will keep it, cant afford to go changing lol, idealy want to keep it at least 2 years, once im used to it more i wont be able to stop smiling :D
Naked black pointy :D the best type.
i dont stop smiling on the SV well lets face it it could be a piece of shizz 50cc and i would still have a smile on my face as i love bikes no matter what they are but i have my preferences. my brothers p plate duke 750ss aint the fastest bike there is but its got a certain character that just makes you want to ride it.
I hear what you're saying bib.
I've not ridden anything other than my bike and a gs500, but the sv does seem fun. Just need to sort the suspension so i dont get left behind in the twisties and i'll probably love it more :)
to be honest with you reeds its not the bike to a certain extent its the rider. just look at all the weekend power rangers. dont get to hooked up about getting left just enjoy YOUR time on the bike. its not about going fast its about enjoyment and quality time for yourself. been there seen it done it and come to the conclusion a long time ago its all marketing bullshiz.
i have been fortunate to have been brought up with bikes all my life and had a lot of help from 'experienced riders' such as:
<<--- my granddad. dad, my bro and his friends. taught me a lot.

Was working in an orange lodge tonight, and all night I had their views forced on me. For what its worth, I was christened as a protestant, and I am a rangers fan, however, I have no belief in religion, and i'm only interested in rangers' european games.
I'm very very open minded, if you wanna be gay, be gay (two of my bosses are), its a choice you make, and doesn't make you a different person. If you wanna be part of the orange lodge, then do it, if you want to be sectarian about it, go for it, I disagree with it, but thats my opinion and I keep that to myself. Tonight I was basically alienated for leaving the room during all their ceremonial parts, abused for refusing to play "orange" music.... Be what you wanna be, do what you wanna do, believe what you wanna believe, but don't force it upon anyone else. Thats one club I won't work at again!

Related to Ireland, I believe the orange lodge are all loyalists, but that's about as far as my knowledge goes. In Glasgow it can get pretty heated because theres the whole Rangers/Celtic divide. The lodges hold marches through the town pretty regularly, in essence rubbing it in everyones face

Yea thats what im thinking, but it comes on 5 mins into riding and goes out when i stop for 30 seconds....
trying to get it to show me the stored fault codes and it did earlier but i missed it

Hi :smt006
and hi munky :smt006
stuff
hahahahaaaa the old trouser leg lifting and stovies making brigade. they are trying to recruit as its dying a death m8. dont worry about it. i had the same crap when i was younger and basically told them to shove it where the sun dont shine as i'm not into 'armature dramatics' or having some idle threat of a knife at my throat as part of the 'you wont tell anyone' crap.
ooops wrong organised group lol. they are al the fekin same though IDIOTS.

There's no way it's ever going back to faired. Took too much work to get it naked. I do miss the way it looked though, but it's much better to ride now

Really? wouldnt have thought the fairing made all that much difference as the riding position is still the same.

Well I mean with renthals, compared to the clip ons. And there's no wind buffeting now. Just feels better as well not having that big plastic boat in my vision. All I see is the road in front.
metalhead19
13-02-11, 01:43 AM
hmmmm, tempting to take the fairing off for a quick ride just to see the difference lol. Dont think i could ride the SV year round without the fairings though
take my hand... go to potato land
