WB speak to your insurer they should be able to tell you.
IMO i would say you have still got 4 yr NCB
Wideboy
22-09-10, 07:49 PM
well i reinsured with my 4 years even tho the claim was pending back in june and i want to know if i cancel my current and go to someone who does to multi policy i can still use my 4 years
grr they really **** me off, whats the point in insurance
gruntygiggles
22-09-10, 07:49 PM
Good evening Megathreaders :-)
I would be pushing your insure to close the claim. Im not sure that you can say you have NCB as your current insurers wont give you your NCB certificate with a claim open? - double check that with them though.
£650 third party fire and theft WTF I have never paid that much for insurance in my life!!! owch!!!

what does close the claim mean? just forget about it?
Hey GG.
Sorry WB I will always stick up for being insured as it safe guards others for your actions etc etc..
WB closing the claim means just that, sorting it out to close the file, if it is pending then it either means they are sorting the claim out to pay or they are keeping it open to ensure that you remain a customer to them alone. Phone them speak to their claims team and pester them to close the claim. If they say they cant demand to know what the current status of it is and what the hold up is!

That was the cheapest I got on the SV and got quoted £500 on a £1,000 er5
its the joys of being under 25 living in a dodgyish area and not having a garage :(
WB - essentially yes, you would still get to keep your NCB as no money has been paid out on the claim.

i see. is there not a limit of time that they are allowed to keep the claim open?

owch and owch.
I used to take a week to get my insurance sorted. Negotiation is the key with insurers, play one off against the other. Generally though when I was working in the insurance sector I cut through a lot of rubbish with them just by telling them my job title then they knew not to play around and just offer me the best deal upfront.
i see. is there not a limit of time that they are allowed to keep the claim open?
Again not sure on the current legislation. You need to phone them and make loud noises.
Wideboy

i will phone them tomorrow... for about the 5th time, just emailed them again aswell

I'm even more screwed next year as I have to declare that i'm in a different sector.
I probably will start teeing off with insurers soon
