worst time of year now - working underground with no windows I go in when it's dark and come out when it's dark and don't get to see daylight for 2 days!
ofc, working underground there's not gonna be much point having windows - doh! :D
My crown has fell out. Lucky enough i caught it before i swallowed it! Great! Cant get it refitted until Monday at the earliest
tiz still light here. but it will be dark in about 1/2 hour

Why does everyone go on about how dark it is in the winter. its not like its a new thing ffs
I dont mind it dark. You can skulk around in the shadows observing. Waiting.

No it's not
not pitch black but there is a fair lack of light
Na, eating lunch in the canteen does that.
toffees do it to me - although the last time it happened the filling stayed in and the inside bit of the tooth came out!
as long as you don't have to get the roots and any remaining tooth taken out - that frigging hurts.
V- you scare me skuling in dark shadows waiting - waiting for what or who!
V- you scare me skuling in dark shadows waiting - waiting for what or who! That would be telling. Its all very sinister...*evil laugh*

Yes it friggin does. I've had root canals in both front teeth. Then in the end, they just took the teeth back to the canal filling and put crowns on.
Whole process is majorly uncomfortable at best....and incredibly painful at worst!
Oi V

or should that be:toss:

I knwo GG that what they done to me told me it was a filling I was going back for - there was so little of the the tooth left they took the what was left and will replace crown when they know what to do with it next

Whole process is majorly uncomfortable at best....and incredibly painful at worst!Well i have a crown either side of my 2 front teeth. The one on my left was replaced just recently at a cost of £790!! Included root filling etc. This one on my right, has already been broken once (Cold mars bar) Not sure what they can do. i am hoping that they can put a post in this time round.

Just seen that - congrats GG xxx
Hammmmmmmmmmmmmm! Yum, one of my favourite cooked meats
Did a gammon joint in the slow cooker the other week, nothing fancy, just some bayleaves and peppercorns in the water, it fell apart when I tried to carve it, it was so tender! Wife got grumpy cos I made scooby-snack sized sandwiches to take into work with the remains, I reckon she was angling for a late-night fridge raid :D

I shall put the picture up later...you'll hate me Swin. It is quite simply the best Christmas Ham you'll ever eat and it's one of teh very few things I'll boast about like that. Absolutely everyone has said it to me when they've eaten it and so so so many people have nabbed the recipe off me :-)

DarrenSV650S
03-11-10, 07:08 PM
I did a basic motorcycle maintenance course at the college, but it was a bit too basic. Still learned some stuff though. Wish they did a slightly more advanced one that maybe taught you a bit about the actual workings of the engine
Wideboy
03-11-10, 07:10 PM
i read that bit in todays sun, what utter ****e, you got to be a complete pleb if you cant put up some shelves or wire a plug, still a bit of a pleb if you cant change oil
andrewsmith
03-11-10, 07:16 PM
Done them before mate, I'm gradually replacing bolts on this bike cos half of them are on there way out
WB minus people you know on the forum, how many do you know that could a car or bike oil change?

artical about james mays program, they asked men if they could wire a plug, change the oil in a car and put up some shelves..... there were a massive number that couldn't do it so they wrote an explanation of how to do all three

As in a normal electrical socket plug where you just clamp wires to the terminals?

no im still sticking to my original conclusion. why? as you have taken the bike to a garage to get a bolt extracted.
andrewsmith

as i didn't expect the bolt to f***-up. A garage service is a £150 luxury i don't have atm as I aint working.
Yes I kno its probs going to cost me that now to have sorted!
did it snap going in or out.
andrewsmith

i have indeedy just need to get round to breaking it with YC.

hindle8907
03-11-10, 08:05 PM
ill make more breaking it i think rather than selling at a whole.
coz the last monkey probably crossed the thread. now you have to get the old plug out plus have a new hole tapped.. kerrrrching. the sump thread should have given up before the bolt snapped. unless someone has stripped the thread prior and put it back in with epoxy.

new plug every change from now on.
i think that may have happened and a lockwire as a fail safe
munkygunn182
03-11-10, 08:13 PM
it's not bad Bibio. Could be warmer, but certainly not cold :D
i'm thinking of putting a jumper on. mind you your on the west coast. tiz always a little warmer over there.
new plug every change from now on.

you dont need a new plug every time, a new washer yes. if a sump plug dont wind most of the way by hand then its going in wrong. same as spark plugs and most bolts/nuts. as long as the threads are clear there should be no problem. its people using tools to put bolts/nuts on initially that fecks threads.

OMG just walked the dog and found a house on my estate with their xmas lights on the outside flashing away and decorations inside ..... WTF?
andrewsmith
03-11-10, 08:33 PM
Yep as this plug came out fine when i done a change in march.
I'm guessing the mechanic who did the change last has done this. Maybe a trip to YC's garage of doom for a once over could be happening.

My feet are cold. When I was in a student flat last week they had a little thing under the desk to keep your feet warm. It was like a padded fluffy double width slipper and you plug it in. I want one :D
