To go with what meat V?None really, sort of a generic sauce, if there is such thing. This is so i can do chinese stuff indoors. I do like the dayglo orange stuff from the chinese, but im sure its pure sugar :)

Well, I like using pineapple in sweet and sour sauce so an example is :-
1 red onion
2 cloves garlic
50g (1/4 small can) of pineapple
50g sugar
1tbsp tomato ketchup
1tbsp white wine vinegar
Chop everything finely, put all ingredients into a pan and cook over a low heat for 5-8 minutes. If you want a smooth sauce, pass it through a sieve.
If you want a dayglo orange sauce...
80 ml rice wine or white wine vinegar
4tbsp light brown (soft) sugar
1tbsp tomato ketchup
1tsp light soy sauce
2tsp corn starch
4tsp water
Put the vinegar, sugar, ketchup and soy into a saucepan. Stir together the water and cornstarch in a seperate bowl before adding that to the other ingredients.
Put over a low - medium heat and stir continuously until all the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has thickened. This is a more classic "take-away" sauce if that's what you want :-)
morning - the journey from hell this morning can't even blame the motorway - it all went wrong in Bracknell today - hey ho in one peice and now in work
(((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) to T!!
I'm back from the doc's drugged up and spaced out.
munchy time is head this way i fear!!
GG - bought 2 whole mackeral the other day any good ideas. Haven't gutted and filleted a fish for years - looking forward to it though.
you got any drugs for a banging head? Had it since I got in taken tablets on my 3rd pint of water not shifting it!
At the moment I have Diclofenic, co drydamol, trammadol, co-codamol. and I've got the munchies already on them! best thing back still hurts
Stay away from the computer thats enough to make head aches worse :( other than that go and lie down in a dark room hope you feel better Lily
Q thats not good either
i've had two mini mars bars so far today
At the moment I have Diclofenic, co drydamol, trammadol, co-codamol. and I've got the munchies already on them! best thing back still hurts

shhhhhhhh she is senstive about her "problem" ;)
At the moment I have Diclofenic, co drydamol, trammadol, co-codamol. and I've got the munchies already on them! best thing back still hurts*In a cheesy voice* I gonna shake you like a maracca
I kind of had a massive allergic reaction to Diclofenac, so I haven't taken that for years, but Co-Dydramol and Tramadol are my drugs of choice at the moment :)
One thing with Co-Dydramol and Co-Codamol is (for me) they tend to play around with the digestive system, so be ready for unexpected toilet trips!
T - that's what I was about to say
Ibuprofen I've been told id the best thing - if your on your 3rd pint don't take any more - so the girls are saying. Take a break from the PC and go get some fresh(ish) air and stare at something mid distance then long distance then
shhhhhhhh she is senstive about her "problem" ;)
Well I have you know that MY problems are totally insignificant to others!;)

Lily, don't drink any more water until you've at least had something to eat hun. 3 pints before midday is a lot when you're not doing anything.
Try and go take a nap somewhere or just shut your eyes for a while at lunch. Tablets only work for me if I can take them within 10 minutes of the headache starting. The girls are right...computer screen won't be helping...{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}
Q - got a few for Mackerel, do you want to fillet it or do you like it whole? Gulleting is easy.
+1 to GG's suggestion on eating - all of the pills you mention aren't good for your stomach lining and should be taken with food, otherwise you could end up on Omeprazole as well (don't ask how I know)
shhhhhhhh she is senstive about her "problem" ;)
 bless her
i've just bought some sea bass going to mix up some flavoured butter and either pan fry it or bake it not decided yet thats tomorrow, tonight is chilli with Jacket potatoes and real butter and sour cream swirled on top
Yeah MY problem with two legs and a grumpy temperment - eh L?
GG - always had fillets but always open to suggestions.
T - could have got sea bass, sea bream, or red tali something but played safe with makarel - 2 fish for 67p

That'll be Talapia probably...they are great on a BBQ in the summer.
For Mackerel whole, I would cut out large circles of baking parchment/greaseproof paper and brush the centres with a little oil or butter, leaving a 2 inch gap at the edge. Preheat the oven to 210c/gas 7.
Gut, cut off the head and clean your fish under a tap and wipe dry with kitchen paper inside and out.
Get together some butter (25g per fish), mixed herbs (1/2tsp per fish) or some fresh thye sprigs (1 per fish), a lemon salt and pepper and some breadcrumbs or a little mashed potato (to fill a normal mug).
Mix the above together and slice the lemon thinly. Lay lemon slices inside the fish and then fill each with an equal amount of the filling. Place each fish on a paper round and top with a little extra butter or drizzle of olive oil. Fold over the paper and make a few folds at the edges to seal into parcels. Place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes.
If you want it filleted, it works really well with tomatoes, so maybe finely chop a few ripe tomatoes, mix with a few tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper and herbs of your choice and spread on a baking tray. Lay the fish on the tray and top with a little of the mix. Add garlic if you want it, and top each fillet with a slice of lemon. Bake in a 210c/gas 7 oven for 10-15 minutes depending on teh size of the fillet.
Another good way with fillets is to pan fry. When the skin is crisp, turn the fish, add a glass of white wine, and allow to reduce for 1-2 minutes until the fish is cooked. Remove the fish to rest somewhere warm. Immediately add a knob of butter and a little creme fraiche to the pan, season to taste and add a strong herb and even a little crumbled blue cheese if you like it. Finish with a good squeeze of lemon and pour the sauce over the fish to serve.

T - Do you like Fennel? If you do...get your sea bass, get paper like I said in Q's recipe above and some new potatoes, lemon and parsley.
Boil the potatoes until tender, crush a little with a fork and season, pour over a tbsp or two of olive oil and squeeze the juice of one lemon in. Lay thinly sliced fennel on the centre of the paper and put a few slices in the fish. Then stuff some of the potato in the fish and lay some around it. Start to fold the parcel, but leave a little gap. Pour 100ml vermouth or white wine in through the gap, then fold and seal.
Cook at 200c/gas 6 for 30 mins. If you have fillets, you can just lay the fillet on the other ingredients and cook for 15-20 minutes. :-)
